I never understood the appeal of Grand Theft Auto. Does anybody think this is how real gangsters or mobsters live? I don't care how much Counterstrike, Team fortress 2, and Call of duty I play, I will never know what it's like to be a real soldier.

From a gameplay perspective, the GTA series is like those combination printer/fax/copier machines. Good at one thing, mediocre at another, and horrible at the rest. Except GTA doesn't really excel at anything. As a "third person shooter", it is clunky and slow, it's driving dynamics are abysmal, and the storylines are completely uninteresting. It tries to be everything to everyone, and winds up being a huge ball of mediocrity.

I admit, I bought Armored Core 2 when PS2 first came out. I thought it was a decent game, but I didn't know they had so many sequels. Guess I didn't have the desire to buy another one. If they haven't changed much since part 2, I'm glad I didn't buy the sequels.

the enemy who starts off big and bad and slowly becomes laughable as the game wears on is mostly found in RPGs. Remeber the giant snake in the desert in FFVII? The first time you face him, tough as nails. You get to disc 3 or disc 4 and return to that desert, you can kill him with one hit.

PS3 was hoping people would buy for the Blu-Ray, and stay for the games. Blu-Ray just wasn't a big enough leap in technology to justify replacing DVD. It drove up the price of the system. PS3 failed because it was overpriced. Sony decided they wanted to "stay the course" and keep it overpriced. By the time they finally get around to lowering the price, no one will care anymore. A good console ruined by ego and arrogance. Same with Xbox360. They kept denying faulty consoles until the problem got so large they couldn't ignore it anymore. Nintendo Wii is the only reasonably-priced console, but underpowered graphics and little third-party support will not help them in the long run. Honestly, I'm not into any of this generation's consoles. The problem is, people are being forced to choose between overpriced "super systems" and underpowered "kiddie" systems. I'm hoping all three companies can find some sort of middle ground before the next generation console launch.

I have stopped playing so many resident evil and RPG's because of getting killed and then realizing that I had to 10-20 minutes worth of crap all over again before returning to the fight I just lost.
