Timesplitters 1-3 completed 100%, such a fantastic series that I played for hours on end unlocking everything cuz for once it was worth unlocking, shame it mostly probably wont get a current gen sequel, sad face indeed
When a game begins in preproduction an early decsion is to either build their own engine or use an existing comercial engine. Now in most cases they go with using an existing engine because do you want to add an extra year to development on building the engine, no, is it cheaper to use an existing engine, most of the time, yes. Obviously other factors come into this, like the programming teams familirity of said engine. Finally the reason for Gears of War and Unreal Tournament's existence is to sell the engine the better those games look/work means more companies want to use it. and from the looks of it its working
Tony Hawk 2 influenced my music preference tenfold got me into the punk scene with Bad Religion, Goldfinger etc.
More recently Burnout Paradice has reinvigorated my love for 90's grunge/alt through pretty much two songs Soundgarden's Rusty Cage, and Faith No More's Epic. Which I had heard before but hadnt listened to in years. A driving a 200mph down an empty street with Rusty Cage blasting out the speakers is totally awesome
1: Marvel Vs Capcom 2: the simple fact of combining two of my favourite franchises and getting it right led to several weeks of simply playing with my friend over and over and over
2. Unreal Tournament GOTY Edition: I played this so much it was quite ridiculous, I downloaded every new skin, character model, weapon, map played them all. Funny thing is I had a terrible net connection at the time which meant I played with bots ALOT. I named them all gave them special traits(to the extent of UT anyhow) and got wrapped up in the entire situation
3: Final Fantasy X: The reason being that this was one of the only game I actually cared what happened to the characters, yes Aeris got stabbed but she didnt look real! The scene where Tidus finds out Yuna will eventually sacrifice herself is heartbreaking.
If beat FFX twice second time round getting every Aeon and (nearly) all the ultimate weapons. Plus I was one of the apparently few that enjoyed Blitzball
4: Halo 3: First of all I will say I couldn't give a toss about the story. The multiplayer however is fantastic and I have sunk so many hours playing that game, and enjoyed 95% of it. The other 5% is when I get team killed by a racsist/homophobic 13 year old.
5: X-men Arcade: Now while I haven't played this game as much as the others I still hold a very fond memory of a holiday several years ago. There was a pub very close to where we were staying that we visited fequently while there, while my parents we lining there stomachs with alochol me and my brother were playing X-men. This was probably the first time me and my brother had played a game together without it ending in a fist fight, that situation has then been replocated with X-men Legends and Ultimate Alliance :)
got this yesterday, and its as good as I remembered it, played it excessivly till my wrists hurt, figuring out my team, picking strats etc, and using iron mans proton cannon over and over and over
the DC Universe interview has got me excited for an MMO for a change, I used to play EVE simply to look at the pretty ships and (talk with friends), but I have the art book for that now :P
It certainly seems more of a prospect than Champions
as a student of 3D modelling and animation it saddens me to think that i'll probably be working on something similar to big rigs in the future, just think someone spent time making those trucks, etc for it to be presented in a way that makes it completely devoid of value
interesting that alot of these are fighters, also you made me remember Dino Crisis, taught me not to get too close to windows, or dinosaurs will burst through them
I just figured the few PC titles weren't worth mentioning since they're already dirt cheap, and were pretty much ignored by retailers across the board.
Plus, I was trying to weigh the overall value all of the discounts:
-$30 Console game > -$5 PC game
@GamesRadarCharlieBarratt: Yeah, you'd like that, wouldn't you? You and all the other non-horse mammal cronies passing judgment and mocking the quadraped gamer minority...
@KillDrone That's why the contest is only asking you to reflect on the good times you had with the series.
Hell, send a screenshot of your favorite level, if you like.
@Hunter2458 It is compatible with the game of "Life" There's even a warning sticker asking you to "Please skate within your abilities on the other side
Bear in mind that 7 is still "good," and I certainly don't think this is bad game. But as a lifelong Mario fan, I don't see how anyone could consider this better, let alone on par with SMB3, Mario World, SM64 or Galaxy.
Price reckoned that the invading Russians would be more helpless without electronics than the Americans would be, so he launched the EMP.
While the story was a Hollywood-style thrillcoaster, there were definitely WTF moments that just didn't make sense. Maybe we should do a followup feature on MW2's most nonsensical plot points?
