To me the best thing about Braid is that you can enjoy it without getting all of it. If you just go with the idea that the hero is really the villain well that's damn good enough. The non-text ending is pretty awesome when they play it backwards. Truly there was genius at work before any of the over bearing text appears.

People who use the word pretentious to put down anything usually are showing a lack of intelligence by not being able to really point out what they don't like about it so they just throw a blanket statement like "it's pretentious" on it and call it a day.

Pretentious means "self important." Technically anything ever made is pretentious because it meant something to the person who made it.

I'd like to add...GET THE shot gun and the machine gun as soon as possible. It makes killing bad guys so much easier. Also get the infinite ammo machine gun as soon as possible.

I also recommend playing on EASY. The difficulty just isn't worth it. Might as well enjoy the game as much as possible because it's already tricky enough as it is with all of the nagging issues with aiming and such.

Finally don't RUSH, explore the town, and feel free to laugh because it's all meant to be silly. Don't take it seriously.

It also helps if you're a big fan of twin peaks.

I think what people love most about DP is that it's a Dreamcast game at heart.

It's the little things about the game that I really loved. The windshield wipers on the car, the turn signals, and the movie talk inside the car.

The story was truly surprising and the final battles were on-going and built up to a truly satisfactory final battle; something most games have difficulty with in this day and age.

I would set the difficulty to EASY so you can enjoy the game without some of the annoying fights along the way. Also, the sooner you get the automatic the better. Shot gun as well.

Best ending to a game I've seen in a long time and my fav game of 2010.

It's amazing to me how games like Mario Kart and Super Mario Galaxy and SSBB still sell for over forty dollars. Meanwhile Metroid Other M is 14.99 on amazon. Wtf?
