What's the story with Sonic the Hedgehog 2010?
If it's being developed in-house by Sega and not by a second party (Dimps) I would have to say that there is no chance this game will be good, becuase they'll insist upon making some stupid gimmick the focus of gameplay. That's what Sonic has become: a stupid gimmick.

Consoles of the '90s
You neglected to mention that the Tiger Game.com had the absolute worst display of any video game system ever. The graphics were only visable in direct light, and the refresh rate was so bad that any motion graphics whatsoever became blurry green.

Also a note about Sega's Genesis and Game Gear:

Sega was notorious in the 90s for changing the hardware (which all successful consoles do eventually) to less-than 100% compatibility and not telling anyone (which no one else does - heck even Microsoft released a list of compatible Xbox games for the 360). This is why some earlier games do not work with later releases of the hardware.

The Pioneer Laseractive Player (which I am happy to say that I own) also plays "Mega LD" games, only one of which I know of to exist, and sadly I do not own it.

The 12 greatest arcade machines of all time
Four words: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. So what if it was a licensed game? It might not have been the original side-scrolling beat-em-up, but it is by far the most enduring example of this classic genre: more players than Double Dragon, more personality than Final Fight, and more colorful graphics than most of the games to follow it. Only the Simpsons arcade game or X-men even comes close.

The Citizen Kanes of videogames
If I had to elect a Citizen Kane game, I would nominate Zelda: A Link to the Past on the SNES, simply because it was the first time a game's world make me feel like it was concrete and genuine, and it had various themes throughout that made it more epic than the original: Justice and peace in decline, the death of a family member, a harrowing escape from a castle dungeon, ancient evil seeping back into the world... this game had it all! The emotional rollercoaster hits crescendo with the pulling of the Master Sword - a satisfaction that has yet to be duplicated in any other Zelda game (with the possible exception of The Wind Waker, though in ALTTP you can traverse the landscape unfettered from all of WW's conductor's wand BS). And what did Nintendo follow this masterpiece up with? A 3D game where you mourn the loss of a talking tree. I'll stick with my 2D Zeldas, thank you.

QOTW: What is your all-time favorite console?
Super Nintendo. There were so many games of so many varieties, and it had several innovative games which have yet to be improved upon (Mario Kart is waaaaay better than any of its sequels). Granted, many of them were simple side-scrolling platform games, but almost twenty years later I'm still playing my SNES collection while my PS1 collection gathers dust. Take that, 3D!

QOTW: What superhero game disappointed you the most?
Without a doubt, it was X-men (or "The Uncanny X-men) for the NES. The graphics looked like an console error, The power-ups made no sense whatsoever, and you didn't even get to fight supervillains or the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants - you just fought generic video game sprites that looked like Slinkies, alarm clocks, and random pixel garbage. Oh, and using Wolverine's claws took energy! I might just be a thrity-four year old country bumpkin, but I'm pretty sure that Wolverine's mutant power is healing and enhanced senses, not his effing claws!
