Yar commented on: Modern Warfare 2's glaring plot holes exposed! |
|
| I always found the 'No Russian' mission a bit weird. Not in the sense that it wasn't dramatic or scene-setting, but why wouldn't the soldier your playing as question why he had to kill all those innocents? He has a gun with enough firepower to quickly shoot all of terrorists, or at least kill half of them before having to run for cover, but instead he just plays along, fully aware that he's in touching distance of the guy who is supposedly behind all the problems... He deserved to get shot for either not thinking things through, or being more stupid than Kratos. |

| Why isn't Kratos on this list? Throughout both God of War games, you can't help but get the feeling that he's not only a complete idiot who brings every trouble upon himself, but also meatheaded twat, and I say this being fully aware that he could rip my noggin off without breaking a sweat. Still, I could always show him a simple maths problem, and watch as his head implodes... |

| Why Kratos on this list? Throughout both of the God of War games, you just get the general impression that he's not only a twat, but also a complete moron, and I say this in full awareness that he could pull of my noggin without breaking a sweat. Then again, I could always distract him with a maths problem and then watch as his head implodes... |

Yar commented on: The Top 7... Maddest British old-school games |
|
| This blog does well to illustrate why I don't like being a gamer in Britain. You lucky yanks over there got I-Ninja, Megaman Anniversary Collection, Earthbound, the SNES Chrono Trigger, and 3 Final Fantasy Games before FFVII. Meanwhile, we got... Hover Bovver. Hover Bovver. |

|
| Eh... I kinda liked Bugs Bunny's Crazy Castle, and this article didn't change my mind. It seemed a bit rushed, since all you basically said about it was 'It used to have Mickey Mouse. Anyway, IT SUCKED LOL!' Solid reasoning FTW! |

| This was a pretty good article, but you went from comedic to serious and back too many times. I mean, Sub Zero beats Starfox, Gordon Freeman, Mario, and then Sly Cooper, and then you just show a scene from the MK movie and say he's out. The internet should've never beaten anyone either. Link would pwn the internet. :P |

| As much as I lol'd at this, I resent having to watch a 30 second advert in order to see a 40 second video. Gah. | |

Yar commented on: Batman Begins (GameCube): Batman Begins |
|
| I actually like this game quite a bit. Admittedly the hand-to-hand combat wasn't great, but everything else in the game is enjoyable. I like how the main criticism of this game is the way Batman scares his enemies into dropping their weapons. It's not the best concept, but it's carried out really well, with different ways to scare each group of enemies. I enjoyed this game more than Splinter Cell, which had a clumsier main character and visuals that were way too dark. I know it's 'realistic', but I should occasionally be able to walk around without those friggin' goggles, eh? |

Yar commented on: The Top 7 shameless rip-offs |

| Although I liked this article, I had to laugh at your Dead Space comment... The photocopied premise: A gun-toting protagonist shoots loads of corpse-harvesting monsters in a hostile environment. That's pretty much every Resident Evil game, not to mention Dead Rising. Actually, just every game with zombies. You didn't really narrow it down much. :P |

Yar commented on: QOTW: What once-beloved game do you now hate? |
|
| Definitely Metroid. It's fun, sort of, but there's just too many flaws in it. The corridors look the same, and there's no map. The passwords are long, and when you restart in an area, you only have 30 health. Plus, in order to succeed, you have to exhaust every possibility, lay bombs everywhere, and on more than one occasion, jump straight into a pit of acid which turns out to be fake. I don't think it hasn't aged well, I think for it's time it wasn't great either. If you didn't have the 'Nintendo Power' map for this game, you were screwed. |
