luigi was always better and always will be, it may be something to do eith the fact that i dont ussually like the main charcter of the game because they are usually to overly good so i prefer to like the anti hero of most games, which luigi isnt but i still prefer him over mario

the thing about what you mention about aeris is completly correct, unlike many other death in the series her was the first ever tragic death as it was just sudden unlike other deaths in the series such as ...(spoilers)

galup, who died in the middle of ffv but was simply replaced,almost the entire cast of final fantasy 2, as they were continuoisly replaced, Shadow final fantasy 6 who is unknown if he died in the end but is implied that he died, Tellah Final fantasy 4 who although being a good character for the first half of the game left the party most of the time and was low leveled when given back.
