Thus far it's out on PC, hardcopy and download (from Telltalegames.com and Steam) and XBL. It has not yet been announced for Wii. I'm still waiting. They've been a little slow with the Monkey Island episodes too.

Okay, one thing I've been trying to confirm which NO review has really brought to light: compatibility.

Obviously, the guitar peripheral isn't going to work; we know. But since the drum set isn't really needed, and the mic is built into the damn system in the first place, you should TECHNICALLY be able to play this thing on the DSi. Right?

Personally, I think the DSi XL should be treated like a new color. It's just a DSi, only BIGGER! So if you already have one, don't sweat it. I don't see it as a new system (or even a new version).

I just hope it doesn't kill some great game launch like the DSi did last year (RIP, GTA:Chinatown).

I've been waiting for those! And evil Peach and Daisy! Until you think about how much of a filler Waluigi really is. He only shows up in the mulitplayer/party games (and portable minigames) and then only as a filler. Pathetic.

Wario, on the other hand, has been pretty popular, and has gone from villain to psuedohero. I think he's another one Luigi's problems. Just when he was getting out of Mario's shadow, BOOM! Here come's Wario!

You have to admit. As much as we fight for connoisseurship, we tend to fall back on our fanboyness at times. It's what we do!

But actually, it also tends to over-accentuate the problems of the consoles. I mean, do we ever hear about anything other than the 360's RROD rate, or PSN's crap, or the Wii's shovelware? Whatever happened to the good stuff?

Not bad at all! Have to love Samus and can't beat Alyx!

But you have to apologize to Lara. She deserves a place on the list. Considering she was one the first memorable heroines, she's been the victim of more nude patches than anyone else. It's not the creators, or her reinventors who've made her "distasteful." In, and of herself, she always has been. Give her another chance.

Motion capture NOTHING! Ha! I can't wait to see how bad Project Natal and Sony's "magic wand" thing flop and everybody goes back to classic controllers.

You know what REALLY made the Wiimote any success at all? THE CURSER! Point and Click! The same action every PC has survived off of for the last 20 years (which I might add has been a bit lacking on the major consoles). Not the Wiimote Waggle.

You want to know why Chinatown died? Three words:

Dee Ess Eye!

Software sales always slump in lew of major hardware release. The DSi killed a lot of great games early this year. And of course, Rockstar saw it coming.

"Hey, I know how to shut all those Nintendo fans up: let's release our long-anticipated DS title right before a major system! That way, it'll flop, and we can complain about how awful Nintendo is, and we won't have to develop for them again! I mean, who wants a Nintendo fan for a buyer, anyway?"

FYI, the "evil Lara" was an upgraded doppleganger from TR1. But I will agree with the zombie mom part. For 3 (count'em THREE) episodes, Lara's trying to find her mom, and all of a sudden, she's a zombie. Well that was a huge waste of time.

Besides, you game critics get WAY better PR packages than consumers, like that $150+ gift package for Halo 3.

Now, when it comes to business, marketer's basic strategy comes from building a good working relationship with the costumer. It's not uncommon for a corporate marketer to buy his customer lunch, or even small gifts now and then. That's business.

But stuff like the Halo 3 bundle? If I got one of those, I admit, I'd feel like I was being bought off, and probably give the game about 10 less points ( on a 100 scale) than I would have otherwise.

Oh come on! SE are almost always worth it (and rarely more expensive). Get the game, or get the game, soundtrack, walkthrough, etc.? They both cost $50. The Conduit's extra's sucked, but since I didn't lose any money over it, I didn't lose any sleep.

The only time I was ever disappointed was RE4 "Premium Ed." Making of video? No. It was 15 mins of Capcom saying, "we've done so much more this time, but no spoilers; you have to play it yourself."

It's also introducing a newer generation to older music (and visa versa). Yes, I think the onslaught of music games has gotten crazy (7 GH titles this year?! Did I hear right?), and I've cooled down, but I still keep my eye open for good songs, genres, and artists the same as if I were buying actual albums.

I swear! I was in 2nd grade at the time, it was the late 80's (that shows you how old I am) and the computer lab had an old Atari. After about 2 minutes I couldn't figure out what the point was, so I went back to Oregon Trail.

I picked it up on a whim.

I thought it just looked like a cute RPG to kill time. Little did I know how I would fall in love with it's rich storyline, amazing graphics, and unbelievable gameplay.

I totally expected this to be a comedy article, but you guys kept it pretty solid. Make's perfect sense: familiarity. We all go for what we know; two went for licensees, and one went for the closest-to-casual game on the 360.

Veterans like us are just more in the loop; otherwise, we'd do the same thing.

Although, I wouldn't call Wii Speak a failure just yet. Not until the Wii's cycle is completely finished (which won't be for another couple years). Now that Conduit's using it, we can expect more High Voltage titles to carry it, and if Conduit really inspires 3rd parties to get on the Wii ball, WS might just prove a success in the end.

Actually, the only difference I see between many of these (mike, pad, drums) is that on the Xbox & PS lines, developers ACTUALLY USE THEM! Nintendo throws these out there for everyone, but nobody touches them. Then when MS or Sony copycats, gamers are on that like Gordon Freeman on a headcrab.
Which does add an omnious shadow to the Wii Motion Plus. So much potential in 1:1, but it's useless if no one develops for it...

I don't care what anyone says: I liked Ion Storm. Yeah, after Daikatana, they were off to a bad start, but after Deus Ex, Anachronox, and Thief 3, it looked like things were starting to pick up.

If you ask me, there's a curse on the Thief series. Same thing happened to Looking Glass.

The Conduit (Wii): The Conduit
Not bad. Gameplay-wise, the weapons have a Halo-feel (only a couple at a time; you get new guns/ammo mostly from dead, regen health) in a solitary environment with a if-it-breaths-kill-it objective. Not a lot of strategy. The plot and environments seem ripped-off Deus Ex. Agent hired by secret government agency gets hired and betrayed, and ends up working for the "terrorists" he thought were the enemy. Recognizable national landmarks torn by war make up most of the levels.

Final assessment: Is this the "console-affirming" hardcore title that will prove the Wii's "superiority"? No. But it is a clear message to most 3rd parties who blame the shovelware (tossed out to fund their 360/PS3 projects) on the Wii's lack of hardware: Now there is NO EXCUSE for shovelware!
