Screw the Warthog that's not the important bit. It's the fact that EA have refused them the Porsche sub license. I saw a few RUFs in - game and I thought that's cool, they're having RUFs aswell, finally they'll be seen as a seperate manufacturer, not just the go to when the Porsche license can't be obtained, but then I read this. EA are heading down a slippery slope, they were once the Activision of the industry but redeemed themselves when it appeared they actually started to care about their customers and franchises. But with the recent BS such a pulling games from Steam and now holding the license to themselves so they can shift more copies of flippin' NFS, for shame EA. For Shame. Atleast they've always left Dice to do their own thing. Anyone touches my beloved Battlefield series i'll start cracking skulls.
However I read the updated carlist and spotted the E39 M5 was now on there. That clamed me marginally, now all I need is my beloved E34...
Loving the Dukes, Vanishing Point, Bullit and Gone in 60 Seconds tributes in those screens. It certainly does play great and i've played Driver since the very first, must be the only person in the world that likes Driv 3 arrr and I can safely say, that 'shift' mechanic has not taken anything away from the core gameplay, if anything it has added to it significantly. I'm looking forward to.
I recently had a trip to Alton Towers with my college. Everyone was going on about the rides they went on and how amazing they were. I spent the day boasting about how I had first place on Desert by 5 seconds. No one gave a crap :( I texted my Dad who's currently working in Scotland. He was proud. They just don't make 'em like they used to
Been playing Battlefield since the start and i'm fucking impressed with this. Should be interesting to see how DiCE do making a serious single player campaign rather than Bad Company. I'm not even gonna question the brilliance of the multiplayer, because let's be honest. It's been acknowledged that we want a near enough carbon copy of Battlefield 2.
Didn't expect to see Metro 2033 here. Not because I think it's flawless, but because I didn't realise anyone remembered it now it's more than a week after release. As much as I love the game (Found it to be one of the highlights of 2010) I do completely agree with the points made.
Also, Gran Turismo 5. It hurts. So much potential, so little realised. The physics are far greater than all previous installments, but it's just let down basically everywhere else. I don't however, get why people claim you need to rank up to get damage. I had an extremely bent S14 Silvia in the first race I took it out in.
Brilliant review. I don't even own a PS3 but I remember playing Gran Turismo 1. The Japanese version on an erm... 'fettled' PS1 before it came out over here. Ever since then I loved every single one, but felt they got worse as it went along. Enthusia was more enjoyable than 4 for me and Forza just knocks it out of the water. Then I moved onto PC Simulations (i'm not even going to go into it, they're on a whole other level.) But reading this, i'm not even sure I want to play it. Those screen were unbelievably shocking. Forza certainly looks better OVERALL. PD, where did it all go wrong?
I come back and everyone is still getting butthurt about there being no Porsches. This happens every time a GT is released. EA OWN the right to the Porsche name when it comes to video games. (See Need For Speed Porsche Unleashed) The only reason Forza has them is because Microsoft have got ridicuously deep pockets. Polyphony and Sony just do not want to dig out for them.
Seriously dissapointed at that car list. I love Japanese cars, but having the majority of the EVO's Skyline's and Impreza's is clearly just booster material. Still no E30 M3? No E34 M5? Dispicable.
Part of me wants to say The Boss on MGS3. That last moment where everything but the wind is Silent, Snake just standing over her with The Patriot pointed at The True Patriot's head. But I suppose I do have to take into account that actual fight before hand.
Can't see the violence being AT all realistic in this. E.g. a frag grenade isn't very likely to make you lose a limb... it'd probably leave a gaping hole, alot of muscle tissues and some torn arteries on show, but it wouldn't blow it clean off.
EA Should just get everyone on console to play a week or two of BF2 on PC, so then all the console gamers will realise just how great an experience it is, then all write letters saying they don't mind missing out on BF3 for the PC gamers to experience such joy T_T B2K fo lyf...
