Aw come on, no SNK vs. Capcom for the Neo-Geo pocket color? That was awesome! Though that and Metal Slug were pretty much the only games worth playing on it...
Actually surprised Fear Effect didn't make this list, since that's another PS1 game that got most of it's publicity from it's 'sexy' female lead. And the implied lesbianism from the sequel.
Hm, I was curious about this one, might have to pick it up. It's sorta interesting how none of the screenshots seem to have the supposed main character in the party, odd.
Hmm, on #4 instead of an onion ring he could have turned himself into a calamari ring instead, they look pretty much the same. Clearly I have thought about this too much already though...
How about Fable 2? "Let's see, the player just had a cool fight against a giant shard thing to set up the ending, what next?" "Ooh, I know! Let's kill off the dog, have a pointless little dream sequence, then have them press one button to beat Lucien in a way we're totally not going to explain, and then give them a choice that doesn't really affect anything!" "Brilliant!"
Using the stylus controls you tap the enemy, and then you plow into them to attack. Using normal controls you press the attack button to swing, but your attack extends maybe half your characters width away from you, meaning you pretty much have to plow into things to hit them anyways. Though on the bright side, once you do connect with a swing you'll automatically attack again to try to connect an additional 2 hits afterwards, so that helps alot.
Fun game, but after upgrading from the demo I was surprised to be done with the game with all but one achievement about 2 and a half hours later, if that.
This actually looks like it could be fun, but I imagine that making it a Watchmen game instead of an original IP will probably turn away alot of people that might otherwise enjoy it. Though it also remains to be seen if it will actually be any good, with it's rather short development time, plus the movie tie-in factor...
From the sounds of it so far only the Space Marines will have a single player campaign, much like the original DoW. And much like that game, I imagine other factions will get some sort of campaign in expansions. Still, looks pretty cool so far.
Sounds pretty good thus far, but at this stage of development they're still free to promise the moon and stars above when it comes to actual gameplay and content. It all sounds good in an article, but it's anyone's guess as to how it'll actually work until it's been on the shelf for 3 months and has been patched into playability. Having said that, i'm cautiously optimistic, and if I can get a HK-50 (or whatever) droid companion it will definitely have my attention. If it were anyone but Bioware though, i'd probably barely care.
