The game developer needs to look at it from our point of view as well. Not every consumer has access to the large amount of money needed to by new games. Many gamers, including myself, need used game sales so we can continue playing videogames in general. I can't afford to pay top dollar for a game because my income doesn't allow it.
To put it simply, if the developers cut out used games, then they also cut out a large percentage of their buyers.
Dude this argument is so fucking lame. It was a joke. If you didn't think it was that great then just keep scrolling down the page like every other human being.
So after slamming the author of this article, you're asking for a job? Solid plan, man. Stick with it. And they did give you a verdict. The verdict is a tie, but if you want a tiebreaker, thats up to what you're looking for in an fps. Both games are good for different reasons.
You can't blame them for not making some radical change in their formula. Why would you make a huge change when people like how it was before? Instead of going along with your grand idea of screwing up what made the last game good, they just improved upon what the fans like already.
I bought the game and I completely agree with the review. Sure, innovation is something to look for in games. But honestly, Call of Duty is the way I like it and i'd be pissed off if they completely revamped the way the game operated. I admit, some improvement in graphics would be nice, but the actual gameplay continues to build on what makes the CoD formula successful.
You're better off building upon a formula that works than completely changing a formula thats already known for working. And no matter how many "hardcore" gamers disagree with that, the rest of America is gonna love it.
And yeah, Skyrim looks ridiculous. Cant wait to get it.
Dude, its not a shit stain mark for any franchise. If you're looking for top of the line action and game mechanics, then this game isn't for you. Go play CoD or Battlefield. Anybody who buys this game is looking for a laugh, since obviously thats what the game is all about. Its supposed to be crude, abnoxious, and funny. So what if it didn't match up with the top of the line games comin out nowadays? That wasn't the point.
So stop whining and realize that this isn't a hardcore game; its just supposed to be fun. If you've got a problem with that, don't buy it and shut up. It makes all of our lives easier.
Frankly I cant believe you put Zelda a step higher than Mass Effect. I understand that Zelda is an old franchise, but lately it hasen't had anywhere near as much sucess compared to the Mass Effect series. And Wilde, you mentioned it might not bring something new.. Have you not seen the differences between the first and second?
I'm no fan boy, but I think you're insane for not putting Mass Effect 3 on this list. Game of the Year is gonna end up being either Mass Effect 3, Gears of war 3, or Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. They're heavy hitters for a reason, and I don't think Arkham fits the bill.
I swear ta god, you all sound like the hipsters of gaming. "Its too mainstream; I only play REAL games that are undeground because i'm HARDCORE". I agree with Ironarm above me here completely.
You can say the games are all the same, but this is one of the best examples of a series that can do everything the same with every game and still be awesome. Get over it, they're good at what they do.
Oh, and as for the most anticipated game thing, Gamesradar is talking about the majority of the gaming population, not every one of you pricks who feel they need to make it a point that they aren't in that statistic. Since its just so important one person claims hes not part of the millions.
This plus Mass Effect 3 is gonna be the end of me. I'm psyched!
I don't get why people are freakin out about this. When infinity ward throws out ANOTHER Modern Warfare, itll probobly look pretty damn close to this. They're all pretty generic. And for the love of god, why do fanboys exist? =/
DB1331 - Dude he aint butt-hurt, hes disgusted with how ridiculous you're being. If you've never liked the game then what the hell are you doing reading the article? You knew what was gonna happen n we dont wanna here you complain about not liking it because of that. Butt-hurter =p
Hot damn man I loved the first one but wasn't the biggest fan of the second. Im hopein this'll redeem the series for me. Lookin forward to it.
I played, beat, and loved both KOTOR games and enjoyed them to their fullest. I thought they might have come out with another one later but to hear that its gonna be a MMO is a huge let down. I cant afford an MMO but KOTOR was such an awesome series too. I had WoW for a while and had to stop playing because of the cost and now the same thing is gonna happen with this..
