6 months 7 days ago on QOTW: What game are you most ashamed you never beat?
GTA IV. I tried that last mission about ten times back-to-back, but it's so long and there are so many things that can go wrong. The absolute worst was when the game glitched out on me and I fell THROUGH the boat near the dock. I wound up drowning because I couldn't move. After that I set GTA IV aside and said I'd come back to it after my mind-numbing rage had worn off, but I still haven't and that was about 6 months ago.

And, of course, I'm the kind of person who refuses to move on to the DLC before I've finished the main game, so I have yet to even purchase The Lost and the Damned.

Man, I thought I'd seen pretty much everything in L4D until that last video. Two tanks... simultaneously? That's just cruel.

But I will get this, play it, and love it, I'm sure. Gotta love Valve's commitment to quality and keeping stuff free now that pay-DLC has become the standard.

"Just what we need: 3D card buying options getting even more complicated."

That about sums it up for me. I love that they're constantly advancing PC technology, but that winds up meaning more and more complications and research when it comes time for me to build a new PC. Ah well, I'm sure I'll deal with it. Solid-state hard drives make me excited in ways I'm not comfortable describing here.

Not really excited for anything there. Diablo 3 and Deus Ex 3 look somewhat interesting, but I'm not jumping for joy over them.
10 months 15 days ago on X-Men Origins: Wolverine Uncaged Edition (Xbox 360): Wolverine cuts loose
Looks pretty cool, although I'm very skeptical since it's 1) a movie tie-in and 2) an X-MEN movie tie-in. I'm glad they've finally adapted Wolverine's healing factor to a video game, though. If only Master Chief and all the other FPS grunts hadn't already been doing it for about 5 years now...

I'll admit it: I don't like Vin Diesel. At all. I think Pitch Black is literally the only movie I've liked him in, and he was a totally one-note bastard in that. So his presence might've influenced me to not even try this game normally.

Having seen GR's articles on it so far, though, I have to admit that it sounds like a really fun game. Like the best parts of GTA, Burnout: Paradise, and every ridiculously over-the-top action movie ever made put together. I'll probably rent it at the very least.

Road Rash, Zombies Ate my Neighbors, and Earthworm Jim all desperately need sequels. Those games gave me some of my best memories from the Genesis.

I'd throw Gunstar Heroes in there too. Take a Castle Crashers-style approach and make a top-notch 2D game that recaptures the feel of the original with HD textures and online co-op.

The 360 avatars would be the best if you could just change the colors of the clothing. If they had half the clothing options with the ability to change the colors, it'd be perfect. As it is, there's always some article of clothing that would work... if only it were black or blue or any other color than the one it's stuck as.
11 months 24 days ago on Tekken 6 (Xbox 360): Cripes! Five Atari games you'll actually want to play
I'm only looking forward to Ghostbusters and Chronicles of Riddick, but that's more than I've looked forward to from Atari for a long time. Or ever, really.

I still can't believe Activision was stupid enough to let Ghostbusters go.

@TheKitchenSink, on the last page:
I think Faith is quite pretty. Not super-hot, but an attractive, normal woman. It's nice that she's not a buxom super-babe--games are overflowing with those as it is.
11 months 26 days ago on Wheelman (PS3): 8 things you didn't know about Wheelman
I wasn't looking forward to this at all, but consider my mind changed thanks to this preview. It's definitely going on my rental list with a possible buy in the future.
11 months 26 days ago on PC (PC): You'll never be this good at games
A lot of these are pretty absurd. I don't even think I understood what happened in about 3 or 4 parts of that Portal video, let alone how that two-handed Ikaruga guy's brain could process that much stuff simultaneously. My friend and I can't even get past the second level of Ikaruga.

I got to playing Mirror's Edge on release day and finished it a couple days later. I guess I was one of the few who were really excited for it. Great game, although they shouldn't have focused so much on combat--which was done pretty badly in the game--toward the last third or so of the game.

I'm playing Tomb Raider: Underworld slowly but surely on PC, but I admit that I've put it aside in favor of Left 4 Dead most days.

Don't have a PS3, so I'll be skipping Resistance 2 and LBP, although I have enjoyed LBP at my friends' house.

Valkyria Chronicles and Eternal Poison get a pass simply because they're JRPGs, which I loathe almost universally with one or two exceptions, mostly from the 16-bit era. Same with Endwar--not an RTS fan at all.

This article does make some parts of the game sound interesting, but I still doubt I'll play this. Between the monthly fees, having to deal with jerks online, and the inevitable grinding (MMOs wouldn't be MMOs without it), it just seems like more trouble than it's worth. I really wish they'd just given us a third installment in the KOTOR series instead.
