This game really is amazing. The best $10 I've ever spent. And the controls aren't "fiddly". They work perfectly well. The ONLY drawback is that there's no open mic. Push to talk works great in SOCOM, but this is the kinda game where you need open mic.
I still don't get how the PS3/360 versions got 10/10s, but this gets 9, even though the graphics are better and there's the video editor and more expanded multiplayer. But then again, GTA controls always suck horribly on PCs as compared to consoles. It's still a great game. I just wish my PC could run it so I could get in on some of the things the modding community always puts out.
Well, I really like the idea for this article. But unfortunately (and I'm probably the only one in this position) I have absolutely no desire to play ANY of the games on this list. Actually, SOCOM and FC2 are the only games that came out this season that I am even remotely interested in, and I already have those. Maybe I'm just picky though. Either way, good job Mikel
I don't know what you guys are talking about, but I was almost positive MadWorld was going to be all black & white with red blood. It's just some crazy artsy style.
The first thing I thought about when I saw Street Fighter was what Jbo87 said, Bushido Blade. The First Person view was utterly useless, but it was interesting nonetheless. We need more first person fighting games. Well, we really need more sword fighting games. Hell, we just need a new Bushido Blade.
@mgkyo666: Yeah, I thought about including Kratos' brother in this. He does have a presence in GoWIII, however minor, but we still don't know much about him other than that he's weaker (and presumably younger) than Kratos, and that he died when he was still a child and grew up in Hades.
It also seems unlikely (but not impossible) that he's a son of Zeus, seeing as they aren't generally known for being weak or dying easily. So while he's related to Kratos, that doesn't necessarily mean he's part of the Olympian family tree.
@Everyone else: The guide's been updated with the new fourth Horn, and the video for the City of Olympia should be updated sometime tomorrow. Thanks again for your patience.
Howetzer, if you weren't so obviously a huge fan of the site, I might be a little upset by your tone. But you are, so I'm not. However, I'd like to set a couple things straight.
For the record, I do go to work. We have an office that I commute to every day. 12-hour workdays aren't uncommon for me, and it's rare that I actually get to play a game for a project like this. Most of my time is spent researching and writing feature articles. That's not meant as a complaint, but I thought I should correct your idea of this industry in case you ever try to get a job in it.
It's also a little unfair to say that I've failed. Yes, I missed two chests, and that's embarrassing. But the items inside them do appear again later, so it's not as if the guide is totally incomplete. Finding the maximum available numbers of all four item types created the mistaken impression that I'd found all the items. If that's inconvenienced anyone, then I apologize. The second omission will be fixed shortly.
I'm curious, though - why did you go and click on what's clearly a guide article (more than once) if they're for idiots? I guess I don't understand your reasoning there.
The video's fixed. As for the third Hades Phoenix Feather, I'll take a look, and if it's there I'll update the guide accordingly.
For those already past that point, though, the guide DOES illustrate how to find 12 Feathers (the maximum Kratos can collect); you'll just finish collecting them in the Gardens instead of the Workshop, is all.
UPDATE: KnewJedi, you were right. The ACTUAL third feather's been added, and the second Hades video should be updated later today. Thanks for pointing that out, and if anyone else finds something I've missed, please post it here or send me a direct message.
I haven't had an all out crash on my 360 copy, but I've had more than a few telltale signs that it's about to.
Following battles and cinema transitions, I'll get a momentary freeze, or that loud sound of the disc struggling to read... It's truly terrifying each and every time! I don't consider it a sign of "Will FFXIII crash?" but rather "Oh god, WHEN will FFXIII crash?" SAVE OFTEN!
