I think they all win, with each console having a larger install base than the previous generation. And in the end, it is we, the gamers who really win. The competition has created some amazing games, difficulty notwithstanding. Adventure for Atari 2600 was more difficult that some games today.
You forgot Final Fantasy IV (in the US). The Japanese version had visiting a Brothel and Public Urination before it was stripped from the US version. My first lesson that the US really isn't free.
I hate screenshot comps. They make no sense since I don't have separate side by side TVs for my Xbox and my Playstation. Nor would I buy the exact same game and play them both at the same time.
Disclaimer: I am not hating MS Xbox. I can think of nothing better than their next system doing well and continuing to push the boundaries of our hobby.
However, the writing seems to be on the wall here. With the enormous investment in Kinect, LG has a history with MS, and their move toward an "entertainment hub," it really sounds like something I really DON'T want. I want a next gen gaming system.
It reminds me of those failed systems that were supposed to be the next great thing.
I have an Official Runelords the Movie T Shirt. If I wear it and have a photo taken does that mean the Movie will come out? Probably not as it has been shelved.
