Roger Ebert should play this game I have to say Enslaved is definitely a breath of fresh air. It's probably one of (if not the most) beautiful post-apocalyptic stories I've seen. The ending totally blew my mind. Yeah, it is a bit short, but I would rather a short game of concentrated awesomeness than a long game that's totally diluted. |

Man, lists like this make me wish I had jumped on the PSX bandwagon, but I was waaaay to stuck on my N64 to even consider doing so. My friend had a PSX, though, so I wasn't completely out of the loop. Same thing happened with the PS2; I was too stuck on my GameCube and missed out on the "Greatest Console of All Time" until my then-girlfriend bought one shortly before the PS3 came out. Finally I broke the habit; ditched my Wii and bought a PS3 |

Why Sony is wrong about 3D video games |
I agree, I don't think 3D gaming is feasable until the next gen. I work at an electronics store and we (unfortunately) have a 3D TV on display and whenever someone tries it out they're like "Oh, that's pretty cool". Needless to say, they aren't flying off the shelves. I always tell them to wait a few more years, cause then they'll be cheaper and you won't need any friggin $250 glasses (sold seperately, of course) in order for it to work. I think if anyone's made progress with 3D gaming it's Nintendo: starting small AND not needing glasses. Meanwhile Sony says Nintendo shouldn't bash needing glasses for 3D, even though we've needed them since 3D movies started in the 50's. To quote Shuhei Yoshida: "With the latest technology, the glasses are light and you kind of forget you're wearing them after awhile." Not really; if anything, like David said, you forget you're watching 3D after a while. |

Pokemon Monday - We size up Scizor |

I know this is probably never going to happen, but I'd like to see a battle system akin to Chrono Trigger instead of the same old turn-based battle system. Imagine getting into a battle and not having some flashy transition screen, your trainer just tosses the pokeballs out and the battle starts, keeping the same overhead perspective. In terms of story, I think playing as a character with some semblance of personality would be refreshing. The closest thing we've gotten to a majore story overhaul was Pokemon Colloseum. And make Team Rocket (or whatever iteration) actually threatening. What if your charaacter gets captured by Team Rocket and you have to battle your way out of a base, rescuing trainers and Pokemon as you go? I'm not asking that they burn your home town to the ground and you cry out for vengance over the body of your dead mother, but at least make them seem threatening and not just an obstacle on your way to the next gym. recaptcha: spittle far |

Why Nintendo needs to make an HD console |
The new Nintendo system would have to do more than HD in order to garner my attention. What Nintendo needs to do is bring back some sort of Seal of Quality, or at least a way to drastically reduce all the shovelware on the system, and then make motion control OPTIONAL for most games (similar to how the PS3 will handle Move... hopefully). The new system should have a standard controller as well as a motion-controller. HD is a no-brainer by now. And for goodness sake come up with a better name than 'Wii' recaptcha: tarzan could |

Which PS2 games do you want remade for PS3? |
Definitely the Kingdom Hearts and Silent Hill series. I'd jump on the RE4 bandwagon, but I think the Wii version pretty much nailed it. HD would look nice, sure, but there wouldn't be much motivation to play it if you own the Wii one. Move support would be cool, but it wouldn't be anything more fancy than the Wii could do in this case. re-captcha: win snafus |

On the topic of introducing a new type in Black and White, I'm really surprised they haven't introduced Light Type by now, since Dark Type was introduced in Gen 2. It could be a perfect counter-balance to Dark (and, perhaps, vice-versa), and it would fit if Zekrom and Reshiram were Dark and Light types, respectively. After all, it's called Black Version and White Version, so it would make sense if the legendary for each version was Dark and Light. re-captcha: Mr swear |

Are JRPGs dead? |
I've never played many JRPG's (the only one I ever beat was FF VII... last month), so when playing FF XIII I'm pretty much playing as a relatively unbiased gamer. Personally, I think it's a wonderful game. The Battle-System is very enjoyable and keeps things interesting; much better than the wait... attack... wait... attack method. I don't really give a toss if " OMG! there's no towns!?", as long as the story is good and the game is fun, and XIII does all that well. Fanboys need to realize what's a good game, and what's good nostalgia. |

10 years of Nintendo's BEST and WORST |
I think Nintendo needs to reconnect with those of us who migrated to the PS3 or 360, a difficult task indeed. I'm not a big fan of the Wii anymore, but I believe the DS continues to be a rather solid system, but is getting dumped with the same shameful shovelware as the Wii. We need a brand new Nintendo Seal of Quality to cut down on the amount of trouser-soil being evacuated onto these consoles. Granted, though, the Wii and DS are examples of sheer marketing genius: appeal to the much larger crowd that either doesn't play games or only plays games casually, rather than the comparatively smaller crowd of hardcore gamers. I think pretty much all the hardcore gamers have moved on to PS3 and 360, which is a shame considering how a lot of Nintendo fans stuck solely by their consoles for years (I did, and I now regret it). Perhaps Nintendo's next system will bring us back, but right now the Wii is only good for party games and charging PS3 controllers overnight. BTW Luigi's Mansion was awesome. |

The top 20 most important games of the decade |

I agree with the list entirely. At first I was like what? GTA3? but then without GTA 3 we wouldn't have a lot of games we have today (Prototype, inFamous, Assassin's Creed even to name a few). BUT I think Kingdom Hearts deserves at least honourable mention cause it really was one of the biggest (and most surprising) crossovers ever, and actually made these cute Disney characters seem cool. It was like our teen obsession with RPG's, swords, and Final Fantasy merged with all these great childhood movies and memories and made something entirely new and exciting. Also I'm surprised you didn't manage to shoehorn Okami into a list again X3. Seriously, though, that game does deserve some (read: many) kudos, not just for its graphic design, but for its gameplay and thoroughly original story. |
