The Wikiparez actually did already happen. I uploaded it for the Fanart thread. Might be that I deleted it from my photobucket account by now, though...
@oreomonkey
Recaptcha is the little program that spits out randomized words to ensure you're not a bot whenever you write a message.
As I said, these words are usually random, but sometimes create interesting/funny combinations, like 'morning wood' etc.
You should totally take 'in the moment' pictures of the audience/yourself, whenever something new is revealed. I'd love to see the faces of seasoned game journalists facing 'Littlest Pets' shit, haha!
It's interesting to see that the Japanese developer preferred to portray the militaristic German from the period when Japan fought Germany (WW1) instead of the period when they were allied...
Wait, when Brett said that he probably won't be here next week, because he doesn't like his contract, did he mean that he quit his job at Gamesradar??!
You're bringing up some great points. There is little to no chance of Bioshock 2 reaching the same heights and creating the same emotions as the first one, but I've gotten used to this experience through so many franchises.
You have to think of Bioshock 2 as what it really is: A sequel to the gameplay and story of Bioshock, not its spirit...
As you said, the spiritual successor will arrive some time - just not with this game...
The first game I can remember pre-ordering must have been the Halo 3 Limited Edition (The normal limited one, not the one with the stupid helmet. I was smart to realize that it wasn't big enough to be put on one's head.)
And no, that doesn't mean that I'm a 12-year old insult-cannon. I just managed to get along for all those years without ever pre-ordering. But since I was actually pretty hyped for Halo 3 (No clue why, I didn't care for either of the first two, but really liked the third.), I chose to just pre-order it...
Sorry, Mikel, but there's a couple of things in your article that simply aren't right:
Regarding the Spear of Destiny: You wrote that it is 'doubtful that he started the war to get it'. Well, it's not only doubtful, it's impossible and unnecessary, as he had already annexed Austria before the War ever started. There are, however, accounts that claim that, when Hitler it, he believed that the spear had ordered him to conquer the world. But that's years before he ever even became the Dictator of Germany.
2. The Thule Society did not turn into the Nazi Party. They supported the DAP, the party which would much later turn into the NSDAP (which are the Nazis), in an attempt to turn them into 'Believers'. But with a few exceptions, that didn't work. (Himmler wasn't one of these, he got these ideas by himself)
3. Women were allowed to fight, though not as frontline troops. They were part of the Air Guard, which consisted of Women, Hitler Youth and Elderly, and was handling the Anti-Air weaponry. Later on, these Anti-Air weapons, namely the famous Flak 88, would often be used as an Anti-Tank weapon, by these people, too.
4. Nowadays, many historians agree that Himmler actually wasn't smart enough to orchestrate the Holocaust. This crime goes to Heydrich, who was Himmlers closest advisor. (A common joke back then was: 'Himmler's Hirn heisst Heydrich', meaning 'Himmler's brain's called Heydrich). Heydrich was killed during the war by two British-hired Polish assassins.
That's all. Congratulations to anybody who made it through my wall of text, and even though there were some small flaws in it, it's still a great article!
It's a great game, but I'm surprised the Reviewer didn't mention the horrific performance issues and instability. The Game freezes regularly, has loading times of up to five minutes and crashes for me whenever I have large battles (4 Armies or more).
And that's even though I'm playing on the settings the game recommended to me, even scaled down the grass!
But don't let all that stop you from buying the game if you have a decent PC. CA have promised to work on a patch for the performance and instability which is supposed to already be released some time next week or so!
Great Job kids! Show the Editors how to do it, they can use any help they can get xD
As for the "Street Fighter button masher" comment: Every fighter appears like a button masher unless you know what you can do when you coordinate your attacks...
You definitely should have put CoD4 in there. The first mission might not be so creative, but consider it an intro, or an 'in-game' trailer for the experience coming up. The real beginning is the live, interactive execution of YOURSELF!
If that isn't amazing and memorable, what is?
Shouldn't you guys be equalizing the audio?
