I really hope the next consoles are globe type devices instead of boring rectangles. I imagine cleaning it like Gandalf covering up seeing stone in Lord of the Rings, haha
I love the Warcraft franchise but I think Cataclysm was the zenith of WoW for many. This expansion will only be a continuation of the long slow death of an increasingly graying King on the throne.
Set in San Andreas, check out the police car license plate if you have any doubts. Will be interesting to see if there are any tie ins from GTA: San Andreas that was set in the early 90's
Ultima Online did much more for the MMO genre than EverQuest did and was much more important. Insert random 3D MMO and it could have done as well as EverQuest, it's success was all about timing, not content or merit.
MGS 2 inventing the stealth genre? please, Thief: The Dark Project Came out in 1998. Also this list is a joke without Battlefield 1942. Console games can pretend it's still the 90's while they play their simplistic MW2 but the Battlefield series evolved the FPS genre by making it include varied military vehicles and enormous 64 player battles the whole way back in 2002.
Glad TF2 and CS were mentioned, but TF map should be 2Fort instead. You could also make an argument for CS Assault map instead of dust. Dust is certainly worthy though.
The Airport map is a straight rip off of a good old Counter-Strike map. Firing a gun from an AC-130 has been done before: Desert Combat Mod for Battlefield 1942. $10 price jump for no reason but ego is unacceptable and justifies not buying this game alone for PC. The PC has many great shooters, missing out on this one is no big deal, especially with BF:BC2 coming soon.
