Wasn't expecting to see Black Ops or MW2 up there, let alone at the top. And then Castle Crashers, I can't believe they are going strong still. Such an odd year.
Man, I hate when people do this sort of crap. I've bought almost everyone of these and put in $5 to $7 every time and this deal is amazing no less! I already own Super Meat Boy twice, Cave Story, and Jamestown, but $5.35 for Shank and Bit.Trip.Runner? Hell yeah!
I disagree with a lot of this really. I think the Thrashball sequence worked very good for Cole. Dom's death could have been handled a lot better, but it seems fitting. The story and the ending didn't bug me too much. It actually had a proper "story" and explains why Adam is still alive from the second game and how long this has been going on and uses past events and dates from its own universe. By what I mean was the first two games felt like a closed world and the only thing that mattered was the task ahead, while this game actually feels like time has past and realize that there were other things going on. The four-player Co-op only made it easier and more fun especially when fighting some of the bosses and the AI actually help out a lot. People bitch about bad AI all the time, so I'm f***ing confused that the one time that the AI on your team is a little bit better than you and is actually helpful, people start to complain about kills being stolen. I rather take that any day other the AI Dom in Gears 1 & 2, where I bleed to death 75% of the time even when bleeding next to them.
My big beef is why did people adore the first two games so much, especially the stories? I liked them, but compelling story? You blow s**t up then you're in a worm and then sink a city for those games. Only in the second half of Gears 2 you start to see the characters fleshed out a little bit. I barely remember anything about Gears 1 and in two, the first thing that comes to mind being eaten by the worm. If you want to complain about the ending being a bulls**ted tie in, fine but I'm going to stare in confusion if you say Gears 2 story based around a F***ING WORM is better than 3's.
In the end, I didn't really had any sense of accomplishments in the first two games. The third one finally gave me a little bit, but to me it would have been great if they killed off the humans instead and make it something like Reach...only we wouldn't know that they were going to die.
Wow, now theres no way for me to catch up with the Drunk Tank when I was barely current with Bombcast. It looks like TDAR and GB till I quit/get fired from my job.
It seems like everything they are doing to promote this game has some kind of repercussion. From what I read yesterday about The Dillinger Escape Plan show, everyone there wasn't for Homefront and Greg (lead singer of DEP) started to climb one of the towers on the stage during one of the guys speech. I got a feeling 90% of those people have already forgotten about Homefront.
He's joking....I hope. He's just referencing the TalkRadar episode where Reach was being compare to every single game that came out around the same time.
Anyway, from what I've seen of the game it didn't look that fun.
