The Megaman on the cover seems like a really bad cosplayer who never played the game, but conveniently had stuff lying around that sort of looked like what he once saw in a picture.
Yeah, I always thought that the box art version of Ico looked A) nothing like the kid in the game (I mean I'd excuse the box art if it looked like what he was imagined to look like in concept art, but his face bears no resemblance) B) he looks really annoying and angry for some reason, not sympathetic and scared for his and Yorda's continued existence like he does in the game.
Well naturally every zombie game and just the survival horror genre in general needs to be co-op since nearly every freaking zombie movie usually deals with a small band of survivors and not just one person. Heck, I'd love it if they could offer Silent Hill a co-op experience since dealing with bad guys with just a lead pipe or a 9mm pistol is difficult and just plain odd when typically there is another character there that you survive the ordeal with. Heck it would be an excuse to throw in 2 player puzzles for some diversity.
Ever since I played Ikari warriors I've always loved the idea of co-op campaign mode. Heck, even the library level in Halo was made more bearable when played with a friend who liked to use different weapons than yourself.
There are older games because you usually don't find bonus stages in modern games. In more recent games special items or awards are usually unlocked for achieving some statistic built-in to the game. One example of such things would be unlocking new characters (like in fighting games) or special costumes (also in fighting games, but in a lot of newer Konami games).
Also, in free roam games the bonus level isn't so much of a level as it is an integrated mini-game. So things like GTA:SA's dating game or item collection or Metal Gear 3: Snake Eater's Kero-tan search give you bonuses (admittedly Metal Gear games aren't free roam per se, but you do have vast areas to explore with most letting you spend as long as you'd like there), but aren't bonus levels.
I'd have to agree with Sixboxes as I recognize the car bash bonus game to be from Final Fight as well.
However, I'm going to venture out on a limb and say that the people who wrote the article don't know their cars too well as the car is based on the first generation of Lexus LS 400/1989 model of Toyota Celsior (UCF10)—which looks really, really different from the BMWs of that era (those still had round, headlamps that were built to resemble the characteristic sealedbeam ones found on their older cars).
I was hoping that they were going to try to use a Tony Hawk game or Sims 2 at some point. Also, I recall that some of the Tiger Woods games have some level of create a character ability and I would hope that some basketball games would—both quite appropriate for Obama.
If they really were going to make darts from DMC, they really needed to have some kind of rose theme to them as it does fit in with that one move from DMC4.
