Not sure I would call the Wii a mistake, in itself. I don't doubt they'll find something else, some other new thing to offer generation #8. What was the mistake there was the word Wii. Really, Nintendo? It could have been XBox 360, Playstation 3, and Revolution. But no. You had to call it the Wii. Where the hell did they come up with that.
Actually, I like the idea. The core gameplay of Rock Band is obviously rock solid (no pun intended) and the Lego thing will let them do all kinds of crazy stuff. Character creation would finally be worth doing, especially if they go all out with the 'pieces' you can make your dudes out of. Make a guy with 1 arm and no legs, why the hell not? Or literally build your guitar or bass or drums or mic out of legos... And of course in-game: Little Lego people rockin out on crazy Lego stages with crazy Lego instruments... Lego stuff exploding on star power (or whatever Rock Band's equivalent is)... The possibilities really are endless, and it's tons more original than the various band tie-ins of GH.
Despite how funny this is, I can't concieve of how you forgot to make an Obama Mii, PS3 Mii equivelent, or 360 Mii equivelent. Seriously funny though. I didn't think fight night was that bad.
Sounds like this could be one of the big sleeper hits of this year. I gotta say I'm looking forward to a good 3rd party Wii game that actually uses the motion controls in some way, without being gimmicky or downright stupid.
Tip of my hat to you guys, well done. My one annoyance is that there aren't any posted prices for accessories, just "Gamer with a budget" or "Deep pockets." Useful nonetheless.
Agree with some, disagree with others. I agree with what that one guy was saying about games as escapism, but for just that reason I like more realism, not less. If I'm playing some FPS, nothing annoys me more than something to remind me I'm playing and not 'escaping' (Like, say bullets that spray in a cone out of a recoiless gun)(except where appropriate (shotgun))
There was a PC Gamer article that said they were really working on optimizing the graphics so it could play on a bit more realistic computer. I agree though... 256MB RAM? Intel P3 1.6GHz? even for a minimum, that's really low.
