I agree there's more to Sonic than holding right. I've been playing them since the original's launch day and am well aware of backtracking and slowing down. But IMO the levels all feel the same, regardless of the actions onscreen.

They're fun, but there's no sense of why this world is fire/jungle/city etc. Ice Cap was the first one that felt like it needed to be ice to work. But that's me.

Bear in mind that 7 is still "good," and I certainly don't think this is bad game. But as a lifelong Mario fan, I don't see how anyone could consider this better, let alone on par with SMB3, Mario World, SM64 or Galaxy.

Good, not great, not exceptional.

I wondered the same thing, then I realized that 3D World is also published by Future. Sometimes we all share content like this just to show what else we have out there.

For example - I didn't even know we HAD a 3D magazine until now.

Replaying missions is a first on PSP and all Sony platforms, so it's worth saying in that way. But yes, that was a feature on DS as well.

Cyberninja: Yep, I think it's better on DS, having spent tons of time with both I feel I can say that easily. However, if you didn't play the DS one, this is absolutely worth trying.

A whiny fanboy, me? That's a first! I think I explain well enough how the combat and co-op are entertaining enough to make it a solid, fun game, which deserves to be called "great," but that I didn't find it mind-blowingly compelling. lol lets flam war.
