I'm personally a little bit disapointed by this trailer. The game looks like it should be the mid point between SotC and ICO, not the follow up to Shadow. I imagine it will play a lot more like ICO and It just feels like a step down from SotC. Can you really watch this and think 'Yes, that game will be bettter than Shadow of the Colossus, and is indeed a progression from it'?
Seems to have some of the same problems I had with Mirror's edge on its own then. I fucking hated having to work out where to bloody go. I know it's petty but I just wanted to run. The game was so much more fun when the way was clear and you could just get to your objective as fast as possible.
I'm pretty sure that Unoriginal was being sarcastic, maybe I'm wrong but either way I like how the "first" comment got ignored in favour of everyone calling out Unoriginal's supposed mistake. Interesting.
Valve: Kings of the game industry. I still hold up HL2 as my favourite game, and L4D blew me away last year (and still today).
Listening to their in-game commentaries it is clear how much they know about making a good game.
Y'kow that last bit was kind of irrelivant. Not just because saying 'my character is better than your character' is the lowest form of arguing, but because your opinion on who would win IS your name.
It's fair enough if you prefer Twin Snakes, but I think the jump to gamecube took away the game's soul. Sure the graphics were better, the controls tighter and the cutscenes faster-paced, but none of these things really 'improved' the game.
The clearer graphics took away the hazey feel that gave Shadow Moses such a sense of mystery and forebodding and there was much less contrast in the colour pallette. The controls reduced the game's difficulty right down due to the level design being based on MGS1's control system, but the cutscenes were the biggest disapointment.
While David Hayter deserves due praise for getting the original cast back to record the dialogue, none of the performances were as good second time around. Worst of all the team decided that Snake would make a fine addition to the cast of the Matrix and had him flipping off of everyone and their mums (or missiles).
I suppose technically Twin Snakes is a better game, but that's like saying 'any game made today is better than any game of ten years ago', which just isn't true.
Eh...there's nothing wrong with this article, but I am feeling a sense of deja vu. Hasn't this already been covered in a top 7 at some point? If not this definitely isn't the first time this has been mentioned in a GR article.
Personally my favourite kind of articles are the in-depth ones: 'How Gordon Freeman is the deepest game character', 'Portal is full of feminest theories' those sort of ones. I also really enjoyed that one on artistic downloadable games recently. These are the things you guys do best.
Also, has anyone heard of mid-30's spitting? Apparantly recaptcha has.
Waitaminute wasn't there an article a while ago called something like 'Genitals/sex you didn't noticle' and in that article wasn't there a tiger whose balls you (the site) were complaining about?
So do you vote yea or nay on animal balls?
A little contradictory I think GR.
