Madden NFL 11 (Xbox 360): EA Sports attacks used game sales by locking online modes
We have two consoles in our house. And like to share our games. Hasn't been a problem with COD4, MW2, Halo 3, Battlefield--none of them. Now, we won't be able to share EA sports games without buying an extra "online pass." Total BS on the part of EA.

@fester: Bully for you. I'm glad you enjoy it. I find the experience inferior. From friends, to updates, to the controller, to multiplayer. Glad we got choices, right?

This article's own link shows the 360 outselling the PS3 in the US 25 million to 15 million. If the 360 is still outselling the PS3, then that lead will increase. The US multiplayer market is where it's at for US players. From that standpoint, the PS3 has failed to catch the original XBOX in terms of US sales--again, per the link this article provided.

Not sure how accurate those figures are . .

Further, if we go by the numbers, doesn't that make the Wii the king? We had that POS too but sold it. And I don't think any PS3/Xbox owner would trade for one.

For the record, the XBOX outsells the PS3 in the United States. And I presume North America. I presume the difference for "worldwide" sales is made up in Japan, and perhaps Europe. I have 90 something friends on my F/L and all but a handful of them are not from North America.

This link shows the 360 outselling the PS3 consistently in the US. And I think both the PS3 and 360 will start outselling the Wii on a monthly basis.

Most people I know who have PS3s play them off line and don't play them very much. The people I know who have 360s play the crap out of them and have bigger F/L and more social gaming. As far as the controller goes: think how much has changed sincd 1996 or 1998 when that controller was designed. It's hideous. I guess you get used to anything, but I find it inferior. To me, everything about the 360 just *works* better. And yes I've had the RROD. My point is this: it doesn't matter if the PS3 sells more copies. The PS2 outsold the XBOX 10 to 1 (at least). And the XBOX still had a thriving online community and plenty of games to play. The figures are irrelevant. It's what you enjoy, as long as the community is large enough to enjoy it. In the case of the 360, it certainly is, and the PS3 can go on to sell 100 million and it won't change that.

I own both consoles. The 360 is far and away my primary gaming console. The controller is superior in that it wasn't designed in 1996, and the multiplayer/social experience is superior in every way. I don't care WHAT the sales numbers are. If my PS3 broke I might buy another one--I have quite a blu ray collection now and it's my only player. But there's no question I'd replace the 360s, as they get so much use. I don't think people who have played both can seriously prefer the PS3.

3 years, 5 months ago How you can "save" PC gaming
I say good riddance to PC Gaming. Inconsistent performance, compatibility, and hardware upgrading is for the birds. Console gaming is cheaper and more consistent. Besides, I'd rather play from my recliner.
