I find it notable that you considered Left 4 Dead 2 a lesser game because of the lack of decapitations and entrails. Why? Everything important was still there: the tension, the tactics, the Director. Why was it therefore inferior?

This isn't even about R18 - I'm just curious.

(If the answer is 'Because I can't enjoy something without loads of blood and dismemberment', then Jack Thompson had a point.)

I realise the principle is a serious one (games are for kids while DVDs are for grown-ups, etc) but seriously, it's not that big a deal in practise right now. Can't get Mortal Kombat or Syndicate? Oh well. Neither of them are exactly life-changing experiences. Go play Arkham City or Soul Calibur 5.

I'd like it if the price of Move controllers dropped, because I'm very stoked about this game, but it'd really be the only game I'd use Move to play.
2 months ago 3DS Ambassador alert! How to download your 10 free GBA games right now
Early Adopter here:

You know what? I'm happy for this. Not least because they clearly thought about which games to send out and picked the cream of the GBA crop, and not just because there's a few there I haven't played, and not just because Minish Cap and Metroid Fusion are arguably the best 2D versions of their respective series...

It's that these are exclusive. It gives me such a visceral kick. Much love, Nintendo. Now give Link a voice.

A mark down because it makes other games look bad? Good grief. Either you're making a joke (which isn't funny), or you're seriously having to scrape the barrel.

Anyway, this review reads like a 9 or 10. I loved the first Trine, I'm sure I'll love this.

Sounds like my kind of game. I can't help but feel that a lot of games feel like making the gameplay challenging is expected of them, when for me, it just gets in the way of an excellent story that I'm thoroughly enjoying.

It's why I prefer the Grim Fandango Movie to Grim Fandango itself.

Many thanks, GR, for bringing this to my attention.
2 months, 2 weeks ago Witcher 2 developer estimates game was pirated at least 4.5 million times
" Maybe they don't like a developer's work ethic. Maybe the game was a sloppy port but it's still a good game. Maybe they're using the game as a demo. Maybe they wouldn't have bought it anyway and pirating a game is the equivalent of playing Flash games online to them. Maybe they're poor and need a break from the nasty shit life is taking on their heads."

Or maybe they're just greedy and selfish, and the idea of paying for something is alien to them.
2 months, 3 weeks ago What's behind Skyrim's invisible walls? All of Tamriel, apparently
I can't help but think I'd prefer this to a whole new Elder Scrolls game. The Skyrim engine seems powerful enough to last for several more years, so I say flesh out what we've already got.

I'm actually a big fan of DLC in principle - it's just that most of it is crap. Bad DLC: Prince of Persia: Epilogue; the Assassin's Creed II DLC. Good DLC: Bioshock 2's Minerva's Den.
