At launch 3DS sales were great - yes - but after the initial uptake it slowed to a crawl. Nintendo reacted by implementing a hefty price cut - something it wouldn't have done if 3DS sales didn't need a kick up the ass.
Agreed, though, since last August's price cut, 3DS has continued to gather momentum (it's been the best selling console in Japan every week since the drop in price). So, fair dos - me saying '3DS uptake has been slow' is misleading, so I've tweaked the words to be more accurate.
At first I wasn't sure how much a new Wipeout would impress me, but - along with Everybody's Golf - it's pretty much the only thing I've been playing for the last couple of weeks. Based purely on the demo, 2048 looks like it should be the best Wipeout yet.
Whether it justifies the considerable cost of a Vita though... that all depends on your bank account.
Peguin has won the competition. His answer was 'Teetees', so he wins by default. As soon as he sends me his address, I'll get a copy of Transformers Revenge of the Fallen in the post to him.
Make sure you listen to next week's podcast, which will be live on Wednesday 28 December, as we'll be giving away Rage on Xbox 360.
Just to let everyone know that the winner for the comp is JDash10. He said that the game he'd like to see made into a movie was 'The Elder Scrolls, starring Nicolas Cage as everybody.'
That made us laugh, so he wins. Well done JDash10. You've earned yourself a copy of Infamous 2.
Thanks everyone for taking part and supporting the GRUK podcast.
There will be another chance to win video games and stuff in next week's podcast, which will be ready for your listening pleasure on Wednesday 14 December.
