10 face-kicking songs that better be in Green Day Rock Band
@zigs

I'm no drummer, so I can't speak on that level, but as someone who's played a crapton of RB drums I feel it'll be a total blast to play. Brain Stew is one of their slower songs so it's definitely not indicative of a typical track. I agree there's a lot of overlap when it comes to GD's drums, but it'll still be a challenge to get through on harder settings.

I mainly wanted to stress how different this band-specific Rock Band entry will be compared to Beatles. As a "drummer," I couldn't stand Beatles due to its nearly nonexistent drum charts. This time there'll be tons of pedal and lots of movement around the pads.

But I do appreciate the feedback, especially when it's that coherent and to-the-point.

Kerplunk was the first album I ever bought. I'm in dire need of a new RB Drumkit, if they include a lot of the early stuff, I'm in.

Mass Effect 2 DLC: Kasumi’s Stolen Memory
Firewalker is free to members of the Cerberus Network, Kasumi is not. Kasumi is a separate bit of paid DLC.

Nintendo DS 2 - the near-certain reality
@QWERTYCommander - very true, but that was because the sound quality suffered and you couldn't have as much FMV. I don't think a next-gen handheld would suffer from those problems even if it was cartridge-based.

@PurplePancake: Now that I think about it, that video might not work outside of the US; I forgot that Hulu has territorial restrictions. For those who can't see it, it's a Saturday Night Live sketch called "Norwegian Actors' Playhouse," in which American actors pretending to be Norwegian actors affecting American accents do an awkward police-interrogation scene. You can probably find it online elsewhere if you're so inclined.

@sleepy92ismypsn: Yeah, you do. For all its weirdness, I want to make it clear that Heavy Rain is a unique experience that's surprisingly fun and definitely worth playing. These are just things that stuck out as odd.

@TURbo: You don't need to appeal to Brett as an intermediary; you can bitch to me directly. But yes, you're right to point out the embarrassing error. Consider it fixed.

@jmcgrotty: No, I think you'll find I implied that people who like Dragon's Lair don't have a problem with QTEs, and also are masochists. Both are well-documented facts.

Noted.

@jmcgrotty: I found them on Amazon in bags of 250 for $19.50, which works out to 7.8 cents apiece. So yes, massive bulk. But that'd be the way to go if you were for some reason trying to buy more than 6,000 of the things, don't you think?

About Me
After graduating from college in 2000 with a BA in journalism, I worked for five years as a copy editor, page designer and videogame-review columnist at a couple of mid-sized newspapers you've never heard of. My column eventually got me a freelancing gig with GMR magazine, which folded a few months later. I was hired on full-time by GamesRadar in late 2005, and have since been paid actual money to write silly articles about lovable blobs.
