@Cogglesz - it's definitely not a clone of OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast - they're completely different to play. But even it was, that would be no bad thing
:) I want me some OutRun 3...
I too am veggie as you say. And I just had to add that Cundy's list of Pixar films is clearly wrong. It's obviously:
Toy Story
Toy Story 2
Finding Nemo
The Incredibles
Wall-E
Monsters Inc
Ratatouille
Bug's Life
Up (haven't seen yet)
Cars (haven't seen yet but probably last anyway)
But I don't think I've disliked any of them that I've seen...
Oh, and I like frogs - that was a very harsh picture :/
It's set in the future, when a man's children ask him what he did in the war. He's ashamed because he shirked his responsibility and didn't enrol in the army. The idea being, if you enrol and fight you'll never feel that shame. Pretty clever, really!
Sonic Jam on Sega Saturn, which I bought with my first money from my Saturday job at W H Smith at 15 years old. I can still remember it sitting on the shelf in Pink Planet Games Exchange with the 'New' sticker on it and how I exclaimed really loudly 'Oh my god it's only £32.99!' because new Saturn games were about £50 usually. My dad told me to shush cos they might realise they'd made a mistake. Wow, was that really 12 years ago? Happy days :)
Ahaa! Yes, I agree - it's looking very nice. Although obviously the previous 700 words or so would tell you that ;) Very generous of you not to go for 1p on your preorder, too.
Played the most? I suppose that's easier than rating the best 5 games of all time. OK - here goes:
Sonic 2 - Still as fresh as ever and never fails to entertain me.
Sega Rally - Loved it in the arcades in '95, played it every year from '96 till present... and got the Guinness World Record in January 09. How many games last that long?
Crazy Taxi - Looks and sounds great the first time you play, then the score attack keeps you hooked forever. Amazingly deep. I even played this the morning of my driving test. 'Crazy Through' indeed :)
Christmas NiGHTS - No surprise here. Still one of the most atmospheric games you can play, and the two-course game size only makes it more focused for repeated play. And that's why I play it repeatedly :)
Erm... then it's a close call. Probably something mundane like Animal Crossing. An hour a day for about 10 months... OMG it doesn't bear thinking about :S
@garnsr - I just thought the end music was exactly like the music in that game, pure coincidence it was a 'soccer' game. Having said that, I do have the urge to add that the game is clearly football boots, onion bags, goalies, and early baths.
Ah, but that would be forms then and yes, they would. There's so much potential for this game... shame it will never happen! Agreed with Agent Washington though mate - I'd just spam Bird Film :P
Probably the time I met Tetsuya Mizuguchi (creator of Rez, Space Channel 5 and my beloved Sega Rally) at Atari Live. I shook his hand and started gushing about the fact that I probably wouldn't be what I'm doing today if it wasn't for his games. I met him again later in the bar and he "remembered me". Oops. We actually had a much better conversation after that - he's a very nice (and understanding) man. But he did say that while he was making games for the Saturn he wished he was making PSone games instead. That hurt my inner Sega fan quite hard, I can tell you. But yes - moral here is if you see one of your heroes, take a few breaths, compose yourself, and try not to look like an idiot.
Yep, those old screens are from a previous iteration of the game that was shown off a good while back. Metro 2033 was 're-announced' in October, with this new, overhauled version. So ignore anything you see or hear about the the game that dates from before this report.
And Metalgatesolid: Sorry, but there's no PS3 version at the moment. It's PC and 360 only right now I'm afraid. We'll let you know if that changes though.
@crazytar: UK article, UK release dates. But we'll update with the US ones as well.
@JackSkellingtonSkin: I think the author was trying to focus on original PSN/WiiWare games, rather than falling back on PSOne Classics or Virtual Console games. But thanks for the observation.
It was Joe Newman, our editorial intern's idea. That's his charming mug in the videos! Kazoo cameos by "the real Chris" Antista, Charlie Bear-hat and on the mouth harp none other than Bender Wilde aka BluesBot2000. Shot and edited by yours truly =)
There are some cracking title ideas here. A few of you guys have already 'shopped some up and posted them in the forum (http://tinyurl.com/ybuvqcd), but we want to see more of this greatness. Head over there and get involved!
Amazon ftw (I'm broke now) and I have Tony Hawk American Sk8land for my DS, love it! I'm glad that Ride is failing, maybe end this peripheral crap. Seriously there are a ton of games that are good though so take the glass half full or half empty.
