Bear in mind that 7 is still "good," and I certainly don't think this is bad game. But as a lifelong Mario fan, I don't see how anyone could consider this better, let alone on par with SMB3, Mario World, SM64 or Galaxy.
I wondered the same thing, then I realized that 3D World is also published by Future. Sometimes we all share content like this just to show what else we have out there.
For example - I didn't even know we HAD a 3D magazine until now.
Replaying missions is a first on PSP and all Sony platforms, so it's worth saying in that way. But yes, that was a feature on DS as well.
Cyberninja: Yep, I think it's better on DS, having spent tons of time with both I feel I can say that easily. However, if you didn't play the DS one, this is absolutely worth trying.
We tended to stick with the countries you fight them in rather than their origin (Oro wasn't born in Brazil, but his background is) and left out some Final Fight characters that don't appear as playable... characters.
Great list! I would also like to add Metroid Prime Hunters, which manages to convert he robust ideas of Prime into a DS FPS... in early 2006. It's a true technical marvel.
The options were: no podcast at all because we're all stretched too thin and had no time whatsoever OR a brief one with a theme. In this case it's 69 minutes long. Remember we do all of this ourselves...
I think it's a lot of fun, and what's one week of deviation and experimentation? We'll be back to normal next week.
It's not a reprint. All articles are live on the web forever. We merely posted a link back to it for those who missed it the first time through.
A "new" version would only add Arkham and more LEGO to the list, as they're the only new Batman game since this published. That necessitates a warning?
I just read the last 15 comments or so (hadn't checked this thread in a while) and it brightened my day. Thanks for listening, posting and giving a shit!
I will accept your SFIV challenges! And probably get annihilated!
I think we're going to accept as many friend req's as possible, invite you to games, play, then invite new people. If you're super awesome to play with we'll keep inviting you back!
That opening tune is the general Final Fantasy theme, present in just about every FF game. I do love it so, and both FFIV DS and FFXII have great renditions.
I think we're about even in terms of Marvel knowledge. I know more about one thing, he'll know more about another. Everything else I'll defer, because I don't keep up with DC, Image or much else.
@mentalityljs I play PC games but a majority on my 360 because I don't have the money to constantly upgrade my PC to play the games I want. In fact I enjoy being able to pick from like 80 games to play without having to install em or worry about installing an antivirus/antimalware program. Therefore I don't mind paying 40 bucks for live when its a lot cheaper than a new video card, cpu, ram, more hard drive space and so on. I still love PCs but economically the 360 is great, especially with everyone's unanimous talk of not needing a new gen console quite yet.
Haha its late so I read Zack & Wiki Quest for Barbaros' Treasure as Zack and Mira Make A Porno haha. Yeah I'd cheat because I'd actually love to play Ratchet and Mario again but cheating is expensive. :P
Medal of Honor will never be able to get back its former glory. The last good MoH game was Frontline. CoD really needed the Modern Warfare facelift, I don't think it will do the same for MoH.
I remember all of these, I was pretty disapointed with both of Treyarch's games though. WaW felt like a rip-off of CoD 4 in a WWII setting. I liked it, it just felt like they lacked innovation (except for zombies!!).
As a wannabe level designer I giggled with glee reading this article. Gotta say that's a good list and I would agree with John 117, I'd add on a Starcraft map like Big Game Hunters. I don't know how many different versions of that one people made and I'll be damned it will not appear in SCII. I'd have to say Counterstrike was my college experience while Goldeneye was my high school experience.
you also forgot that, you know, GRIN opened about 4 other studios before these games failed to sell, causing a GREATER cash flow problem and helping to bankrupt them since there was really no need for those studious.
Good, not great, not exceptional.
