The 8 worst moments in Duke Nukem Forever
To those saying certain bad parts (graphics, animations, gameplay) of the game were done on purpose, I'm sorry but do you recall the universal panning of "Eat Lead : The Return of Matt Hazard"? It was a game that tried to parody corridor shooters with identical enemies... by being full of corridors and identical enemies. You simply can't go in and say "but it was done ON PURPOSE!" If the devs of Big Rigs said all the bugs were done on purpose, would you give it a 9/10?

Which console will win 2011?
@HeavyTank: Thank you. Every time I read about PC gaming on general gaming sites, I facepalm at the Blizzard whoring (and sometimes Valve whoring). Don't get me wrong, I don't like Blizzard's games but I respect their achievements and I adore Steam and love Valve. But there are so many other developers that only do stuff on the PC it's disingenuous to just speak about Blizzard. Guild Wars 2 will be bloody epic, and I'm giddy with excitement over Dawn of War 2: Retribution.

Anything that remotely resembles strategy games (like city builders) feels woefully inadequate for consoles. I don't get why developers continue trying to shoehorn them in. They're always flops and more often than not tend to make the PC version suck.

The Top 7... Games that make us feel like geniuses
I'm surprised no RTS made the list. They might be the most complicated genre out there in terms of mental and physical abilities, requiring incredible precision combined with extremely sharp thought and strategic perspective. The simple fact Starcraft became a *national sport* without actually starting to be repetitive should be a testament to this. However, and despite the fact it's not actually out yet, I would've actually given a mention to Achron. A sci-fi RTS (if a little bland in its traditional elements) that blends time travel seamlessly? That's so mind-bending it's not even funny. The physics behind it, the possibilities (send units in the past to fight with themselves, plot an attack in a different past so that your enemy doesn't notice it until it's too late, build units in the future so that you can support yourself in the past, etc.) make my head explode every time I think about them.

How Activision can save its soul
I don't think any of this is going to happen. Just like EA before them, the only thing that will make them change their strategy is a big fat drop in profits that sends them into emergency mode as they try to avoid sinking entirely. If Activision is so blind as to rely entirely on CoD and Blizzard, the following will quickly show up: 1) Treyarch is devoid of original ideas. At best they can mimic what Infinity Ward did, but with them gone CoD is bound to be just recycled over and over. 2) WoW will eventually falter. I'm not saying when, but every game, even huge MMOs like that, end up dying. It wasn't all that long ago that people thought EverQuest was the unchallenged king that would never ever disappear, and now a sequel later it's a fairly average MMO that mostly disappear from the radar of everyone. 3) Blizzard and Activision are separate entities. If Vivendi sees that Activision is bringing absolutely nothing to the table and is merely whoring out Blizzard and trying to attract some of its success... Well, they might find it better to just part ways. Point 3 is the key: remember that when they merged, Activision had a sizable stable of franchises that worked well, namely Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk, id games and Call of Duty. That made the merger enticing. Now? Not so much. If CoD goes down, this might end up like the AOL and Times Warner merger.

Why the latest PS3 crack is disastrous for Sony and for gamers
@Rhybo: Wait, what? Hitler directly ordered the Holocaust. To say what you've said is utterly fallacious. To keep with the hammer analogy, it's as if you ordered somebody else to use the hammer to kill somebody with it. We can all agree that this is clearly illegal, can't we? Yes, it's some shaky ground that we're treading with this PS3 crack, yet it's true that Sony is basically selling you a machine and then dictating how you can use it. Would you like it if Kenmore told you how to use your fridge? Would them embedding a tiny sheet of paper within the fridge saying that by opening the door you agree to follow the rules defined by Kenmore change your perception of that? No, it's still your fridge and Kenmore should get the hell out.

Worst dick moves ever pulled on developers by gamers
With Steam now omnipresent, there is absolutely no reason to pirate games anymore. Before, I could've understood; you're a poor little boy with only pocket change and there are ten or twenty good games that you want and they're all $40 or more. You buy one or two, with luck, and pirate the rest. But now? You can get all of them and still have some money left for a coffee. I've picked up like 10 games for 10 bucks in the past few weeks... Still hesitating on the Humble Indie Bundle, but that's mainly because I'm not too attracted by the games.

Same human-vs-robot, same dismembered torsos going back to life and attacking you, same "cool moves" by the protagonist, same big gruff dude at your side that you often seem to be bickering with, heck, the girl looks like the one in Vanquish in some ways too... The only difference was that the animation and graphics here look plastic, rigid and lifeless, while Vanquish was a distilled action movie in a game box.

That Uncharted 2 didn't win is a travesty. I love AC2 alright, but Uncharted 2 had a much better overall package, complete with excellent MP and less corny voiceovers :P But since it came out far longer ago, most people forgot about it. Plus, making the decision not tied to consoles means multiplatforms have an obvious advantage. Oh and Jagex? What the hell? Between Rocksteady, Codemasters, Media Molecule and Lionhead (among others like Studio Liverpool), the makers of Runescape won?!

I like Insomniac, Ratchet is awesome, but I think Naughty Dog is the company to beat as far as extracting the PS3's potential. Uncharted 2 is still the most beautiful game I've ever seen, beating KZ2 and Crysis to the punch. Though, to be fair, Insomniac and Naughty Dog seem to work together and with a few other PS3 devs (like Guerrilla and Sucker Punch), so maybe the others also benefited from Insomniac's knowledge, too.

BioShock 2 (PC): 2K says ‘No DLC for you!’ to BioShock 2 PC players
@thomas1980: Obviously, glancing over the rampant piracy on consoles helps your case. Piracy is being put on the spotlight on the PC because there's also music piracy, software piracy, movie piracy... If you look at the numbers, there are many other platforms that also suffer from piracy. And while nobody was promised anything, it's still just a cheap move. You can't compare that with Alan Wake, which Microsoft specifically bought exclusive rights for, or AA, which Sony did the same with the DLC. There is no reason here not to release the DLC on the PC apart from Activision's vision that the PC is doomed and that they should stop supporting it ASAP (see MW2 without dedicated servers). I, for one, will not be purchasing Bioshock 2.
