Gotta say I think you're being a little harsh on the new style. I think it looks great and it'll be a lot more accessible to the current generation of gamers who seem to be a bunch of graphic whores.

Then again if they made it too similar in style to the first 2 people would have said it's not original enough.

About Me
Been playing games since the dawn of the fabled zx spectrum, basically a keyboard with a cassette tape sellotaped to the side kids. Its loading screens would take about 30 mins and would bring on an epileptic fit from time to time. Big fan of retro games, well, when looking back through rose-tinted spectacles. I'm sure if I played them now I would weep fanboy tears as my childhood memories are instantly dashed by the realisation that they are now an absolute, stinking pile of wank. I now have a DS and a 360 and ps2. I don't get to play on either as much as I'd like thanks to a fairly hectic lifestyle, which I think is a good thing. Love xbox live. HATE getting my ass handed to me by racist, pig ignorant 10 year olds every time I attempt to play another human being.
