1. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance I've put 140+ hours into this GBA masterpiece. It's got the "just one more turn" sort of hook to it.
2.Pokemon Pearl I'm going with a newer version simply because, other then emerald, I've sunk the most time into this particular version (130+ hours). That, and online trading really fuled the "gotta catch em' all" goal for me.
3. Advance Wars (GBA) The newer versions may have more units and such, but this is the only game (besides FFTA) that's had me so addicted that I start playing at 10:00 PM, and then the next time I look at the clock its 5:00 AM. Also, this happened just last night (morning?). It's that good.
4.Rock Band 2 DLC every week, online band play, and constantly updated Battle of the Bands FTW!
5.The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past My personal favorite Zelda for two reasons. It was the first Zelda I played (GBA version), and its practicaly the game that truly convinced me that I'm a gamer. Before this game, I mostly played licensed crap that barely qualifies as video games.
Actualy, if I recall, there is an odd way to get a ligitamate (spelled worng :P ) Celibi, though it suposedly only works on certain copys of the game (all people who got it work CLAIMED that their game wasn't hacked). It was in either ruby/saphire/emerald. Suposedly if you start at the rock slab with a mew carving on it at the museum in Lilycove (I think it looks like mew anyways) then leave, and go to the route leading into the city from the west then use a certain button combination A Celebi will appear. Somehow I remember this from this huge thread on the Nintendo NSiders forum (befor it was shut down) about four years ago. I never got it to work but there were some people who got it to. Also, using an action replay DS and the WALK ANYWHERE cheat you can unligitmatly obtain pokemon that are found on event ticket islands. I learned this from my cheating little brother. I think that if nintendo didn't want use to ceat to get these pokemon, they shouldn't include the pokemon sprites and such into the game UNTIL these events. Ever heard of DLC Nintendo?
One last thing. (long winded comment lol) I've quit pokemon twice and both times I've picked it up again (picked it up again for the third time last monday). Darn pokemon and it's good RPGness, its more addicting then smoking! xD
@hiyohi That is perhaps the most random and disturbing fact I have read on GR. Also, you suck for saying first, and for not mentioning ANYTHING in the article whatsoever.
Anyways... I wasn't even aware that they made a DS version of Ghostbusters the Game untill I noticed this in the reviews. I guess thats a good thing considering this is a 3 paragraph review. Most of your short reviews are about games that suck. :P
Lolz! Better then Game Party! but yet another mingame collection... (I bought my little brother Game Party for christmas last year, shitty controlls but he loves the game :P )
The only reason I can think that RE is getting whored out is because the Wii didn't get RE5 (and honestly, even if it did, it wouldn't have been NEARLY as good).
The CD-i versions of link and Ganon looked like douchbags. Comparing an ACTUAL nintendo Zelda title to on of those peices of crap would be like comparing Modern Warfare to Terrorist Hunter (or whatever that game was called).
The only reason I can think that RE is getting whored out is because the Wii didn't get RE5 (and honestly, even if it did, it wouldn't have been NEARLY as good). I'm also a bit dissapointed that Dead Space Extraction is going to be a rail-shooter. Why couldn't EA try immitating the RE4 Wii controlls? I hate only owning a Wii... I need more hardcore games.
Other then that, Metroid: Another M looks great, and even though I sold Super Mario Galaxy four months after I got it (it became boring for me after I beat it), Super Mario Galaxy 2 looks fun (that, and I'm excited that Yoshi is in it).
I think I'll track down a used copy of the GCN version rather then buy the "New Play Controll!" version. If only because I played a demo of it years ago with the Bongos and had a blast. Good thing I never got arround to selling my GCN bongoes! :)
Hmmm... I was looking forward to this game. Maybe not worthy of a buy (atleast untill it hits bargin-bin status), but atleast a rental. Great review! :)
I'm dissapointed with Nintendo. Showing off a new Super Mario Galaxy when the 1st came out just 2 years ago? Oh, and a co-op rehash if New Super mario Bros? *shakes head and sighs* Atleast that new Metroid game looks cool, to bad it doesn't come out till 2010. :P
Why is it that all these games that try to bring something new to videogames end up sucking? Yet another game I thought was gonna be good but ended up falling flat on its ass.
