Based on my time with the demo it seemed like a Puzzle Quest light, still pretty engrossing though (the actual battles).

Why the Dreamcast was different
Of all the systems that I never picked up Dreamcast remains the biggest regret. Never had a Sega system, but I had decided to pick up a Genisis one day if I could find one at the local flea market. I ended up with a used Dreamcast and a copy of Shenmue and Dead or Alive 2 very, very late in it's "life" for under $100. It didn't take long before I was picking up anything and everything related to DC and at clearance prices too. I felt like a bit of a vulture. :-/

It sucked that I was never that much of a contributer to the PSO party (Lvl 10 while my friends were MUCH higher) but it was still fun, as was Unreal and Quak III, all via dail up no less. (NFL 2K1 was too choppy though)

Then I discovered the homebrew side of things; whole games and emulators, I was amazed at what was being done.

The common opinon amoung most of my friends is divided. Some say the DC was the system no one knew they loved. Others think it's so beloved now is the afor-mentioned "Dead Rock Star Syndrome" and feel it's kinda over-rated now. As a late joiner I lean towards the former.

Thanks GR for doing this look back.

Nintendo's most-failingest peripherals
In defense of the camera; it wasn't really that bad at the time. Plus it was supposed to be used with the transfer pak for a feature in Perfect Dark. Putting your mug in the game; which at the time was a pretty cool idea. I believe the "Official" word was they couldn't get the feature working correctly, but I'm sure the whole Columbine inncident had a lot more to do with it.

As for the E-reader, I was really surprised Nintendo didn't go the "free inside" cereal box route. There was also a Mario Party card game that used it, which was kinda fun; but even that didn't "need" the e-reader to play it.

I also liked the transfer pak at the time; trading my character back and forth between the N64 Mario Golf and the GBC one.

QOTW: What is your all-time favorite console?
Snes; it was the NES on steroids. RPG's, adventure, shooters just bout every base was covered. Even to this day the graphics still look good, the sound is still awesome; and as twishart said it's home to the greatest game ever (Super Metroid).

DC is second thanks to it's games; emulation and homebrew community.

QOTW: What dead company or franchise do you miss the most?
I miss Technos (River City Ransome, Super Dodgeball) mostly because of the character designs and really strong nosologia for their fun games.

Also Metal Arms is in fact an awesome game.

Perfect Dark! *Giddy* I shouldn't be excited for such an old game, but it's Perfect Dark with a smooth frame rate. I hope they don't mess around with the controls to much...

The Making of TalkRadar
Nice work Mr.Wilde I honestly had no idea the amount of time that is spent on the podcast; nice to see such pride put into a persons work.

It must be rough editing though; I couldn't stand hearing my (recorded) self while editing...

TalkRadar 50 all about YOU
As usual top notch stuff. I really want to believe this whole "last podcast" thing is a joke or running gag; much like "the feud". *Fingers crossed* If it isn't and this truly is the last; then kudos to you for going out with a bang.

I have no experience working for a website, nor with podcast so I can only imagine the kind of extra grit it takes to record and edit something enough to end up with this fine show week after week; all while still completing your normal jobs and finding time for a personal life.

Thank you to all involved in all aspects of the podcasts. It may seem silly for so many people to make such a big deal of this; but it was really great stuff. Funny, entertaining and a little informative; and with so much bad news that can damper a day it was nice to escape it all for a little while. Again thanks ; and keep up the good/hard work.
