I would just like to say this article is the biggest load of crap I have ever read and by no means is it 'logical' as some people seem to think.

From my understanding of the story line and from what this article has said the Locust's attacked the human race without even TRYING to communicate with their 'enemy'. Also, before they attacked the humans there was never any signs that the humans were harming the Locust species in any way. Taking this into account and the fact that the human race never even knew these Locust's existed other than of supposed 'fictional boogeymen' the attack that the Locust's launched can be considered nothing more than evil.

Saying that they have a just cause to attack the human's would be like us looking at Africa, which has been in almost constant civil war, and saying we are just to bomb that countries inhabitants into extinction.

BOTH WOULD BE ACTS OF EVIL.

The fact that humans are the 'invading' species doesn't mean much since the humans on this world had no knowledge of the 'alien' that lived there.

Now, I am not trying to defend some of the things done in this fiction(all their wars, declaring martial law, destroying locust & civilians alike when they scarred the planets surface, etc) but ANY living thing has the right to defend itself and try to survive.

Since the locusts are not giving the humans any chance to come to a peaceful resolution the only choice they have is to defend and try to destroy the force that is endangering their survival.

Now, if the Locust's were to lay down their weapons and try to come to some peaceful conclusion and the humans still tried to annihilate them then I might agree that the humans are the evil ones. But in this particular case the scales of evil are leaning more towards the Locusts than the humans.
