6 months 24 days ago on QOTW: What's your biggest hobby aside from gaming?
Art and working out. But, a lot of my art focuses around games, so maybe that shouldn't count? I'm going to school for 3D art, animation and what not with the goal of getting into game development. But overall, I paint, sculpt, sketch, often times without a thought about games.

And working out is something I had to do. Like many gamers, I was a really skinny kid for most of my life. So I finally got tired of it and started lifting weights. Now I look intimidating!! XD

Ok, the Sonic one was hilarious.

Also, Domino Harvey was a somewhat hot real-life bounty hunter! Also female!

Wtf? No one mentioned the Doom 3 mini-games? Well, I guess the Doom 3 mini-games were fun. :D

If you haven't seen them, here they are (D3 and the expansion):

There's ANOTHER part in Prey that has some of... That...

Also, there's a umm... Feminine door in Prey as well.

Something was wrong with the artists that worked on Prey.

I agree with just about everything except the stealth stuff.

The water cover stuff is awesome, it makes me think of SEALs. Honestly, I would love to see some American Special Ops, like Rangers/Delta/SEALS/Green Berets. The SAS was great, but I think I want something a little different this time around.

The Marine Force Recon missions didn't feel like Marine Force Recon; it felt like I was a meaningless soul in a big giant battle with tons of other guys like me. I'd rather work in small squads, personally.

Also, the sniper mission was awesome! Wtf?

And to elaborate on what I said earlier, I would love to play as a Delta Operator. I mean, there's only like 200 of those guys in real life, they're incredibly elite and secretive, plus they use 1911s and M14s (my favorite guns). The RL Delta Force missions that I've read about in novels sound incredible and different than anything else.

I've been looking forward to FarCrysis since I saw it on ModDB. I would love to mod Crysis, but they don't have any Maya exporting tools, only 3dsmax tools. I don't have 3dsmax, but more importantly, I HATE 3DSMAX.

I think I'll get both the PC and the Wii versions.... That is... If there is going to be a PC version... This is out on the PC page but, unless I missed it, I don't think I see PC labeled anywhere in here...

Guys, I don't really see Carmack slamming PCs here. He's just excited about 360's development tools. You have to understand the way Carmack is to understand what he means. Trust me, slamming the PC is not something id Software wants to do.

Anyway, this interview is just a repeat of the things he's been saying since QuakeCon 2007... Or maybe even 2006, I don't really remember what he talked about that year.

But I've been playing Quake Live for quite a while now, and I have to say that I am incredibly impressed. I don't think I've had this much fun with Quake since it released.

It's just easier than launching up my old Quake 3 .exe to play. I can just go to my bookmark in Firefox and start playing; and I don't have to filter out 15 thousand different "Excessive" mod servers. Instead, I can now play Vanilla Quake 3 online for free, only with better graphics and more maps.

I've been re-addicted to Quake. I can't believe I ever quit playing this game.

I see more Mad Max than I see Fallout 3.

Even so, I think id will make it their own. We all have a right to be skeptical with the style of games they've released in the past, but I think Rage will be a pleasant surprise.

On a side note, does anyone else agree with me that the FPS combat in Fallout 3 is a little lacking? It was the same in Oblivion with the bow and arrow. The movement in their games is just awful. I love the games I just wish the movement was a little bit more flowing and natural.

This is one thing id software games always had down, the movement has always been smooth.

I'm glad to see Prey was praised. I loved that game.

And also: OMG I had no idea Darkwatch had such a hilarious scene. I've never played the game.
1 year 18 days ago on Mafia II (PC): Mafia II
I played it on PC a long time ago, so I didn't have any performance problems. I LOVED the game. And am I the only one who didn't really get annoyed by the speed limits? You could always lose the cops, and even so there weren't cops EVERYWHERE to catch you when you ran a red light or were speeding.

Oh well. I can't wait for Mafia 2, speed limits or not, Mafia 1 was one of the best single-player experiences I've ever had, and Mafia 2 looks to carry that on. And I could care less about multi-player in Mafia... Unless it's co-op - HELL YEAH!
1 year 2 months ago on RAGE (PC): Rage
I don't think this sounds like a watered-down Fallout...

I just think that this story is part of a sci-fi sub-genre that it shares with many other stories, games, movies; And this includes Fallout. Post-apocalyptic sci-fi. Pretty much every post-apocalyptic sci-fi has fallen under the idea of bandits, anarchy, and sometimes mutants, etc.

People are jumping to conclusions about this game already, and it's probably still in it's alpha/early beta stages. I think people should wait to hear the rest of the story.

Then again, I don't think it really matters that I mention this since this happens all the time anyway... Especially for titles that are just being announced.

Anyway, I'm excited for Rage. But I'm probably less excited now that mod development seems to be less likely with their new technology direction. I've always loved modding id Software technology.

I'm in the beta and it's pretty fun, feels just like the old Quake but just tweaked. It is unfortunate about the modless-ness... :(
