@griffed88
Agreed. If you don't understand why dedicated servers are a big deal then you have never had a real multiplayer gaming experience. But it is understandable, these are the same people who think that you can play a shooter with a gamepad. What a joke.
Thank you gradar. I knew if any game site had the balls to broach this subject it would be you.
1. Modern Warfare 1 wasn't anything amazing. It was a solid fps that sold well and had a strong mulitplayer community.
2. Besides some new single player missions, MW2 offers no substantial incentives or improvements over the first game. More importantly, it lacks everything that made the first game successful and worth playing on the PC.
3. The CEO of Activision Bobby Kotick is a bloodsucking scumbag, who represents everything that is soulless and wrong with the corporate world.
4. Raising the average price of PC games to $60 (US), isn't necessarily a bad thing. Especially taking into account inflation and the rising cost of producing AAA games. But for the reasons I just listed, my first $60 game purchase sure as shit won't be MW2.
PS: Console gamers, I appreciate that we have something in common in that we both enjoy video games. However, in this case, you are out of your element, please refrain from commenting.
When is this game coming out for PC?
Also, if they think I'm going to buy this game for PC with Microsoft Points on GFWL they can get fucked. I will not buy that funny money bullshit, not ever.
I'm playing the demo, it's pretty addictive. I found a way to keep playing after you "finish" the level, and a way to build any building, even the ones not available in the demo (although some don't have textures). I'll probably get it when it comes out on STEAM.
I definitely want to reward Capcom's new attitude with a purchase, especially since it is on STEAM.
I'll probably wait until it goes on sale though, as I have always found the RE games to be shitty.
Also, it I don't know if I can trust the review of someone who uses "fantastic" to describe Saints Row 2. That game was fucking awful (at least the PC version was).
Jesus, which do I buy?
All of these came out recently and I want them:
Batmans
Red Faction
Resident Evil 5(only because it has online coop)
Mini-Ninjas
I played the beta of this game for a month.
The best thing -- THE BEST THING -- about the game is the character creation. It is awesome really. But I found that after I made a character and got my flight(travel) ability and played with my powers for a bit that it was all downhill. It is just another MMO, and the pvp is lame. I really think that this game could have been great if it was a coop action/rpg instead of an MMO, all that character creation fun is going to waste on boring MMO grinding.
Believe it or not I was really looking forward to this game after playing the demo.
It upsets me to hear that the combat doesn't get difficult enough to require a strategic approach (maybe there is a hard mode?), and that it has QTEs. Still, I will probably buy it because it is only $30 and it is on STEAM. Also, the demo had a nicely polished feel that didn't reek of a console port, that is always a plus(sadly).
What's more, maybe if IO makes enough on this they will make a new Hitman game! Hope...
Sega 32x.
For some reason I really wanted to play Doom on my Sega (even though I had DoomII on my Mac PowerPC with 32mb of Ram). The thing was not really in stores, I had to get one used, it was a lengthy and troublesome ordeal. When I finally tried playing it the graphics and framerate were horrible. It sucked. Luckily N64 and PS1 came out not too long after.
I refuse to believe that this game is any good. I haven't seen anyone jumping in the videos, all I get is the feeling of flying forward, not falling, and the graphics...wth?
Tricks?
@GamesRadarCharlieBarratt: Yeah, you'd like that, wouldn't you? You and all the other non-horse mammal cronies passing judgment and mocking the quadraped gamer minority...
@LawlingLobstaFTW I assume you're being sarcastic, so did you not notice the large "SPOILERS AHEAD" graphic with bold exclamation points at the very beginning of the article?
A whiny fanboy, me? That's a first! I think I explain well enough how the combat and co-op are entertaining enough to make it a solid, fun game, which deserves to be called "great," but that I didn't find it mind-blowingly compelling. lol lets flam war.
"Hmm. Being an Australian gamer, I would have rather you said the Australian Government is backwards, not Australia."
Hyperbole for comedic effect. ;) I also believe that the US is incredibly backwards in many areas. In fact, I think we're full of stupid over here. No offense intended.
On Mission or On the Move.
Hooah:
The US Army version of the Marines' Hoo-rah or the Navy's Hoo-yah.
Used almost exclusively in basic training and in tv/movies/games.
