100 A buttons
Only a few that made me wonder what they were ... knew most of them even though I didn't have the chance to play most of them ... I blame my subscription as a kid to Nintendo Power, and the fact I read each one over and over and over...

The absolute WORST water levels
Not a level in itself, but for the longest time any quest in World of Warcraft that involved going underwater was something you abandoned unless you wanted to die repeatedly due to mobs that could somehow aggro and hit you through the environment even though you couldn't see or target them (especially those freaking murlocs), the standard reduced speed while swimming, and quest objectives that were almost impossible to collect within the standard breath timer. Water-breathing potions were almost a must.

Better now that WotLK lengthened all races breath timer times three, but still annoying.

Myth in games
Despite what that first image depicts, Terranigma is truly fantastic game. If there was one SNES game they need to put on Virtual Console,it would that one, because so many people missed out on it as they didn't release it in North America, but did in Europe.

Nintendo's most-failingest peripherals
I'm surprised you forgot about the SNES mouse. As awesome as it was, it was pretty much designed specifically for Mario Paint, and the only other game I can recall it working with was King Arthur's World.

Black Sigil: Blade of the Exiled (DS): Black Sigil: Blade of the Exiled
Playing this right now, about 10 hours in, and am enjoying it so far.

Regarding the "high" encounter rate, it seems to come and go. There's been a few times where I'll get into a series of battles after only taking a few steps, but usually it's a fairly normal encounter rate.

The battles themselves do seem a bit slow though, the major problem being your characters being unable to move to attack a monster because another character is in the way and can't get out of it, or a reach issue because of the battle map. A better pathfinding system and having less maps that were cut in half by a bridge or something would help a lot.

The characters themselves are enjoyable, although they are JRPG standards. Music is good too.

IMO, definatly worth a pickup for any fan of the 16-bit RPG era.

Laughed so hard at some of these, especially Command & Bonk Her.

Now to besmirch my favourite game series:

Oral Battle: March on the Black Queen
Tactics Oral: Let Us Cling Together
Tactics Oral: The Night in Lodis
