I hate it when someone defends a game, a movie or a piece of fiction that has massive plot holes by saying 'it's only a game, don't take it so seriously!'

What if George Lucas suddenly decided lightsabers should be made of cardboard. Would everyone say 'oh, it's only a film, it's ok'?

Fictional worlds, including Call of Duty, are supposed to have internal consistancy. It's why, say, Cpt. Price doesn't suddenly grow wings and bomb Russia. Without consistancy in the narrative, the whole story might as well be a series of one-liners.


Not that I think MW2 has a bad story. On the contrary, I think it has the best campaigns of this generation. It just missed a few details here and there...

@Conman93 - You didn't buy MW2 because you might not understand the story? You're both missing the point and missing out bro!

It normally takes me a few playthroughs to fully follow the narrative in COD games (some major story points are wasted in a few throw-away lines in COD4), but even so, the shooting is always, always awsome.

Completely agree, Mr Walter - if this game got anything less than a 9 it would be a travesty. This is two solid years of developers on the top of their game trying to improve on what was already a perfectly crafted and expertly paced experience in COD4.
You won't find a better argument for games as the 'new medium on the block' than in the campaign. I can't think of a single movie, or game, that has left me literally breathless, like in the snowmobile chase or initial bomb-drop in Afghanistan.
In my opinion, this game could not be better. If I was at Infinity Ward, I'd be sh***** myself over how to possibly improve on it.

Yes! My weeks of grinding Nathan's gears have paid off! I can honestly say that (in terms of volume consistancy) that was the single most incredible podcast ever recorded, downright stunning from start to finish (again, in terms of volume consistancy).

As for the podcast itself, could use more stick whitling.

I appreciate the effort towards a unified and unwavering volume level, what with that piece of sponge, but it was up against Nathan Irvine's spontaneous and BOOMING laugh and thus stood no chance. Could I make a bold suggestion for Talkradar 12 and request a second piece of sponge?

Failing that, make the next podcast either 0% or 100% laughs all the way through. That way I can set the volume accordingly. (Or 50% laughs, with the first half being entirely laugh-free and the second half consisting exclusively of laughs).
