i've always liked this series (R&C was my 1st game) but ToD really wasn't that good. it was just felt wrong. i won't buy this, which is a shame, but if it's missing what ToD was, it won't be a bad choice. and this isn't the 1st time they have been split up, there's small parts in every R&C game, plus ratchet gladiator.
killzone 2? awwwww. that game tried to beat halo, and even though i only own a ps3, i still think halo's better. i mean, it tried, but it was so dull. and liquidgfx, it got it for nazi zombies. i'd go on at you for putting up such a dramatic rant, but i can't really say anything about it after what i posted GR's GOTY last year. anyway, what's with CoD_22 being against MW2? given your name, you should be all for it, even though MW2's not a proper COD (they tried to remove the name, but lost around 5 million potential sales). and uncharted 2's not that good in my opinion. i've only played the beta, and the story's great, but the multiplayer half looks like an attempt to copy COD's systems (e.g perks).
@nadrewood999:
the alphabet's made up of 26 letters, not 26 words. you're even more gramatically incorrect than the article!
BTW GR, you forgot two tiiiny little buttons...
THE ANALOGUE STICKS AND THE ANALOGUE CLICKS!
lol, that rhymed.
and the l2 button is used in nearly every game you morons, what are you talking about?
you say that dj hero's the only thing activision's done originally in years, then remind everyone of modern warfare 2 referring to cod4). unless i'm getting mistaken between publisher and developer or something.
i don't usually quote recaptcha, but 'darn presi' is slightly amusing.
never played 09, and only briefly played 2008. just 1 question- can you create everyone out of goldeneye (the film), or everything from the matrix? if you can please tell me so i can put my surround sound savings on hold.
to anyone thinking about buying this game: the ai's buggy as hell. you can put up with it, but i usually kill them for their guns and ammo (quite a good way to go, the only thing they do is draw fire and spot enemies). it should be patched, but just be warned. however, i still don't regret buying this game, and i'm a cod fan. i'm actually quite good at it.
to me this looks like an interactive movie, not a game. i'm not saying it looks bad, the graphics look like they could actually match uncharted 2's (correct me if there's evidence against this), but it doesn't look appealing. it should get a good review because of high quality, but it's not going to fly off the shelves. it's actually a shame, because with some COD4 or OFP2 elements into this game (intense/tactical gameplay), this could be a really good game. again though, correct me if there's evidence against this.
@ GMAN2:
Everyone hates WAW because it's a copy of COD4 with a few new bits, unbalanced weapons and zombies. I like zombies, but the rest of the game's just a copy, and treyarch couldn't even do that right.
and @ Heavytank:
It's hyped so much because it's predecessor won GOTY twice in a row. please name 1 other game with that on it's record, because to my knowledge there isn't one. it's also set to break GTA4's sales record, which won't surprise me one bit.
and if spec-ops only has 23 missions, what do they mean by '60+' challenges? acheivements/trophies or something?
i've spent £93 on this game (game, combat controller and guide), so it'd better be worth it!
i fully agree howetzer. a number's good enough for me, since my copy had been dispatched before i read the review, but a full review would still be a lot better.
MW2's easily getting GOTY. you're an idiotif youthink anything else's got it. the prequel to this got GOTY two years in a row. i don't even think any other game's ever managed that. it's been hyped so much, IW's actually managed to raise the price without losing sales.
but anyway, there's 4 possible GOTY's (MW2, uncharted 2, ODST, Operation flashpoint 2) and i've pre-ordered all but ODST. my only worry's that my HDD won't be able to take them all, i've got 26 games and only 1700mb left until christmas.
oh, crap, i just remembered. my HDD's only got 1700mb left. could GR please tell me the save file sizes for OFP2, MW2 and UC2 please? I really need to know
Pre-ordered this and i'm getting the beta tomorrow. but why are people saying GOTY? have they forgotten about MW2? and I hate to say it, but halo 3:ODST has a chance at GOTY too. but it would surprise the hell out of me if MW2 doesn't win it. but apart from MW2, this is the best looking game i've seen this year, seeing as MAG's been delayed again. but i've got this,MW2 and operation flashpoint 2 on pre-order, with the MW2 combat controller aswell, I'm sorted
LMAO at super mega hyper picard overload, that was hilarious! is that picture copyrighted, because I want it for my PS3! that's brilliant!
seriously, is it copyrighted?
@nadrewod999: that trend's been here for months, it's when people quote their ReCaptcha. E.g:
reCAPTCHA: generics office
enemies that only start/stop coming after a certain point, quicktime events, and weapons that have extreme abilities online. I hate going in to games where there's 1 douche who's unlocked the most powerful gun/decides to use the annoyingly noobish gun and keeps n00b-whipping your asses. the GL on COD4, the RPG on GTA4 and the DSR-1 on MGO. 1-hit-kills, brilliant range and accuracy and not that hard to get.
never tried a military sim, but i'll get either this or operation flashpoint 2 when they're released on the PS3. which makes this review inaccurate, as it is attracting new customers. the rest of it's good though, bravo.
