Mega Man is dead, and why that’s a good thing |
|
|
I've said this several times before: Mega Man Legends was a niche series, with a niche audience, and it was going to be released onto the 3DS, which is not doing very good. They weighed these variables, and decided that they wouldn't get a return on their investment. This is important; you can't just throw money into a game these days, because that could lead to financial ruin. |

Mega Man Legends (3DS): Mega Man Legends 3 cancelation was your fault |

Let's look at it this way; Mega Man Legends has always been a niche series. Compared to the other megaman games. Capcom may have seen that releasing such a niche title for a platform that, honestly, isn't doing very good in the sales department woul be a bad idea. |

Oh hey,it's almost as if a good amount of Kinect games aren't intended for people who don't have kids! Ryse looks badass. Fable: The Journey looks good as well. Most people will dismiss these games because they're considered "casualization" by so called "core" gamers. Right now, Microsoft is focusing on exclusive titles. The multiplatform games that most "core" gamers would care about aren't being showed because they're multiplatform. |

I've seen game-play videos of the original X-Com series. This looks like a fitting version of it. The original X-Coms were tactical, and the fights took place in suburbs, docksides, etc.. There was also research that would give you better weapons. You also had a home base, and could choose your missions as they came up. |

I hate Other M so much for ruining Samus' character. I liked it back when she was just the strong silent badass bounty hunter, and her gender didn't matter; it was her actions that spoke for her, not her gender. The fact that she's a woman doesn't mean anything, because she's still going to shoot missiles at you and escape just in time as your planet blows up. I wish there was more education about the ESRB. More commercials about it, shown during Law and Order, CSI, NCIS, House and all that. |

I agree with everything you said, except for the Valve schedule. Yearly releases CAN be good if actual effort is put towards it. Sure, saying that you're working on something is one thing, but actually doing so is another. Gamers need proof for reassurance nowadays, and Valve hasn't shown anything new related to Episode 3 for a long time. I am beginning to think that Valve cannot count to three. Portal 2, Left 4 Dead 2, DoTA 2, Half Life 2, Half Life 2 Episode 2... |

Why the return of hardcore old Nintendo is looking increasingly likely |
|
|
I'm going to remain skeptical. One thing Nintendo needs to do is show that they care about gamers by eliminating shovelware, doing quality control and such. This might lead to third-party developers gaining a renewed interest. Online policy would need to change as well, so that Nintendo can actually become a real contender in the online scene. Getting rid of friends codes and going with a name system seems to be the most logical route of action for that. You can have the most powerful piece of console hardware on the planet. But if you make decisions that drive away your fanbase, people won't buy it. |
