Totally understand their point of view, and it really comes down to cost. I had no problem picking up SR2 when it was $20 and SR3 when it was $40.

HMV in Canada is just as bad with their pricing. Over the holidays, Best Buy and Future Shop had some great details, and as far as I could see, they kept everything at regular retail prices. Last week they were discounting a lot by 30% or 40%... but that's stupid. Holidays are over, I've already spent all my money.

Two things: 1) People scream all the time that they're going to boycott a company's game but never do (e.g. Left 4 Dead 2), and 2) One person didn't hire the lawyers - Bethesda, the entire company, did.

Bethesda does look bad in all of this but there's no real downside for them. Lose respect? Please, people will still buy their games. That said, they should drop the suit because it's only going to cost them money they don't need to spend.

Not everyone gets their name credited in a film, so why does it have to be that way for videogames? I've worked on over 50 different film and TV projects and yet I only have about 5 onscreen credits. Why is the expectation so different for the games industry when that wasn't the norm only a few years ago?

Seriously, I'm actually wondering if anyone can answer this question...
