Great article and stunning conclusion. I thoroughly enjoyed it. In reguards to my physical game collection, I have unconsciously ordered only my DS games alphabetically. My pc games, on the same shelf, correspond to your method #6. I shall have to correct that.

6 months ago Battlefield 3 will require EA's Origin to play on PC
I use steam. I have a lot of games on steam. I like steam. It doesn't matter how functional Origin is (or isn't) I certainly won't be splitting my games library(again) to sign on. Steam and Valve have been good to me (insane sales, generally lower prices and, of course, free stuff), so I see no need to sign up to a new service which has nothing to offer but EA games. I was on the fence about BF3, but Origin is the last straw of indifference.
