Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands Sarcophagus guide

Above: Locations for all five Sarcophagi on this page, in the Throne Room, Terrace, Rooftop Gardens and Acqueducts areas

Sarcophagus 10

The second you enter the Throne Room, your gut will tell you to run dramatically into the double doors to your right. Don't. Listen to us instead, just for the next minute.

Rather than dashing right, turn left and you'll notice a whole mess of loose, climbable bricks.

At the top of the ugly stonework, you'll see a couple of waterspouts. Dash left, leap off the wall and use the Power of Flow to turn them into poles you can swing from.

At the other end of the waterspouts is a platform on which rests your next smashable Sarcophagus. Crack it open and then see what awaits you in the Throne Room.

Sarcophagus 11

After you've been bouncing around outside for a little bit, you'll stride into this room, filled with guard-shaped "statues." To your left (and just offscreen) is a big hanging banner for you to slide down. Do that now.

You'll need to do this anyway to get ahead, but just in case, be careful to jump when you hit the end of the banner, so that you can swing over to the next one on the facing wall.

As you reach the end of that banner, you'll see the next Sarcophagus glinting just out of reach. You shouldn't need us to tell you what to do next, but we will anyway. Jump onto that horizontal pole, swing over to the next banner and slide down.

Then, at the bottom of the final banner - just before it dumps you into a spiked pit - wall-jump away and use the Power of Flight to slam into one of the enemies on the far ledge.

Kill the enemies or ignore them for now, but either way you'll need to dash up that colorful wall to the right.

Dash up the next couple of ledges, and the eleventh Sarcophagus will be within easy striking distance.

Sarcophagus 12

This one's another gimme, which is completely unexpected (but not unwelcome) at this point in the game. After the cutscene with Malik, you'll find yourself on the wrong side of this cavernous hallway:

To get across, just freeze the waterfalls and spouts for easy wall-running...

... and swinging.

Once you're safely across, the Sarcophagus is hiding (badly) behind that palm tree.

Pfft. What kind of dumbass leaves a priceless antique just sitting around and doesn't smash it for the magic dots inside? Show whoever decorated this area what you think of their failure to destroy stuff.

Sarcophagus 13

Toward the end of the Rooftop Gardens, you'll land on a huge, octagonal platform, where you'll have to fight a whole bunch of monsters. Once they're dealt with, pan the camera around until you can see this waterfall - and the glowing treasure hidden behind it.

Let's begin. Run off the side of the platform and leap onto this ledge:

From there, dash upwards to reach the waterfall, and then run through it.

Behind the waterfall, you'll find a bunch of loose bricks to climb on. Dash up the wall to get the rest of the way to the top.

Pull yourself up, and that's one more Sarcophagus that will never live to see retirement.

Sarcophagus 14

After witnessing Malik's tranformation, you'll have to fight a bunch of sand zombies, after which some vultures will appear. Ignore them and run to the left side of this platform.

See that corner over there? Go up to it.

Once you've reached the edge, look down and you'll see a couple of waterspouts that you wouldn't notice otherwise.

Freeze them and use them to jump down safely, then turn right to face the waterfall below.

Hey look, there's another Sarcophagus back there! Stride on over and it's yours.

I think we like a lot of similar games and I considered your opinion often on game purchases and so far I agree with this one aswell. Thanks for your thoughts, I am enjoying this game, especially for $20 new at Target.Nice guide! Well Done, Mikel.

Thanks. Also, do you or anyone else know what the 5G secret achievement is? I can't figure it out.

@Decabo: You can start a new game and it'll count the Sarcophagi you've already found (and the powerups you've already unlocked). They'll still show up to be smashed again, but you only HAVE to smash the ones you missed to get the Achievement/Trophy. That's one of the few good things about the auto-save system; no matter where you are in the game itself, your unlocks are always persistent.

I have a question: Do you have to get all 21 sarcophagi in one playthrough? I've missed one, and I want to know if I could just start a new a game after I beat it and just get that one, or if I should start a new game now.

Wow, nice guide Mr. Reparaz, I dunno if I'll get the game but, thanks for the hard work! The game looks interesting, though, loved your review!
