Prey isn't a sequel or a remake but a "reimagining" of the original

In a new video from Bethesda entitled 'What is Prey?' Arkane creative director Raphael Colantonio has revealed a few details about next year's game. There's not too much to go on but what we do know is that it's definitely not a sequel and that pesky word "reimagining" has crept out of hiding again. "Prey is not a sequel, it’s not a remake, it has no tie with the original. You have to look at it as a reimagining of the IP," says Colantonio. "You are on board a space station and there are aliens and you have to survive."

Colantonio says that as with all Arkane games, choice is key here and there will be experiences unique to players dependent on how they play. "We track what [the simulation] does all along so there can be consequences to the choices," he says. Colantonio also hints at themes around identity and self discovery and reveals the reasoning behind the name Morgan for the central character. He also teases weaponry and the fact that we'll get powers to use from the aliens themselves. Check out the video below.
