Pre-order Deus Ex on Steam for Team Fortress 2 extras

I have to admit, I'm becoming less and less of a fan of these TF2-related pre-order incentives. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that I've moved away from TF2 for some time now (thereby burying my "could care less" meter), or possibly the sense that too many games appear to be going the "me too" route with this increasingly popular (overblown?) incentive type, but ultimately I think it is something more. Maybe it has something to do with the incentive being tied to a completely different game, rather than something spiffy within the new game itself (which seems to make much more sense). Something that is going to make me feel especially proud of the fact that I pre-ordered it, something I can point to and say "I have this but you do not - nah nah nah nah". This may also tie into my dislike of B-list games shipping with demos or beta codes for A-list titles. It's pretty sad that the only reason Zone of Enders sold as many copies as it did is because it was packaged with the at-the-time-up-there-with-the-holy-grail playable demo for MGS2. I'm also not interested in cheaply made busts/figurines/etc, although I'm down with "Dark Soul's pre-order upgrades your purchase to Collector's Edition at no extra cost" approach (in which case that metal case and art book do look pretty swank, and will surely follow the game wherever it goes) or a round or two of DLC that would need to be purchased otherwise (i.e. BF3's inclusion of the first expansion pack for pre-orders). Those make all the sense in the world and actually dangle a worthwhile carrot in front of my nose in terms of getting that pre-order in. But in the end I think it's just a matter of sporting don't-blink-or-you'll-miss-it "Deus Specs" in TF2 being more than just a little bit lame.

Man, I wish they'd hurry up and release things like the new weapons on Console already DX< Don't give a crap about hats or crafting, but I DO want the new weapons. Especially that sniper, since it looks badass

@Bloodstorm Maybe so, but the "Genuine" quality items (attained only through pre-ordering the game)will be worth a fortune on trading servers. And for the record, these items were the last little push I needed to commit to buying Human Revolution. Tuesday can't come fast enough!

They can all be purchased in TF2's store, even after the game comes out (and all the weapons can be crafted). They won't be any more sought out than any other hat or cosmetic item.

I thought Valve said these will also be findable items

I can run TF2 fine, but I don't think it would do very well with Deus Ex :( Shame, because I really want the new sniper rifle and the spy's "balaclava".

Those items look great and so does the game. All the more reason to Pre-Purchase
