And it still may not survive the experience
The trek to the screen for FX’s adaptation of Brian Michael Bendis’s comic Powers is proving an arduous one.
A superhero/cop show hybrid, it has already shot a pilot starring Jason Patric as Christian Walker, a cop who works in a special homicide division called Powers, investigating cases involving superheroes and supervillains.
But according to FX boss John Landgraf at the Television Critics Association tour this weekend, he has requested “fairly substantial rewrites that would require pretty substantial reshoots” to the pilot and is waiting to see how those tweaks turn out before deciding if the project will go to a series. He called the project “as difficult an adaptation as I ever worked on.”
Not sounding hopeful, is it?
