Power Rangers reboot poster teases, "together we are more"

Lionsgate and Saban have released the first teaser poster for the 2017 Power Rangers reboot. Much like the sneak peeks we've had at villain Rita Repulsa and the Rangers' new suits, it seems to be taking this whole "five teens given power-suits so they can fight aliens" premise pretty seriously. The tag line: "Together we are more."

Elizabeth Banks, who will be playing Repulsa in the film, tweeted that the Red Ranger is the odd man out, lazing about on the ground while his friends proudly stand on top of their… I'm not sure? Possibly a 1984 Toyota Corolla hatchback? Is that what the youth do these days? I honestly don't know.

Anyway, try to remember that this is not, despite the tone of this poster, a movie about bright-eyed, EDM-loving California surf buddies taking a road trip where they'll learn valuable life lessons about life, love, and friendship. This is a movie about Walter White giving teens superhuman powers (and possibly Zords) so that they can punch aliens in the face. At least, I think it will be. Please be about punching aliens in the face?

Directed by Dean Israelite and starring Naomi Scott, Dacre Montgomery, RJ Cyler, Ludi Lin, and Elizabeth Banks, the Power Rangers movie will be released in UK and US cinemas on January 13, 2017.
