Poltergeist remake brought forward two months

Fox has announced plans to bring forward the release of its upcoming Poltergeist remake, with the film now set to arrive a full two months ahead of schedule.

The film will now arrive in theatres on 22 May 2015, significantly earlier than the 24 July 2015 slot it had originally been pencilled in for.

Plot details surrounding the new film are fairly scant, save for the fact that there will be a young female protagonist struggling with the sinister machinations of a haunted house.

However, leading man Sam Rockwell has warned that the film won’t be going all out to scare the life out you, describing it as more of “an adventure” than “Conjuring scary”. We shall see…

Directed by Gil Kenan, produced by Sam Raimi and co-starring Rosemarie DeWitt and Jared Harris, Poltergeist will now arrive in cinemas in just under three months time.
