did anyone notice that the starters appear on the farside of the battle scene at one point perhaps hinting starters can be found in the wild

If Chespin gets its name from chestnut and pin wouldn't it make sense that the pin could refer to the wrestling term (making it a grass/ fighting). Also some people mentioned it may be using aerial ace, which is not unusual for a fighting type pokemon.

is it just me or is there also an Eevee on the statue?
  • LuketheJuke24 - January 9, 2013 12:38 p.m.

Yeah looks like the Golurk is holding an eevee. I didn't notice that.

I'd get Y. I can't take the deer seriously. Ruby, saphire, and emerald had the best legendaries I think.

I might be seeing things, but is it me or does it kinda look like an Eevee is sitting on the arm of the Golurk :O?

You seem to be right, it's actually easier to spot if you look at the non-zoomed in image too.

The move Chespin used it NOT a Dark-type move. It's 'Aerial Ace'.

I think it's safe to say #21 is a Gym as opposed to a WiFi center, because of the two posts with the emblem that's been used to indicate a Gym in the last couple games. But that's just as exciting-- a materializing Gym? What type of Gym Leader lies at the end?

Battle of the sexes? X&Y It's nothing about that: Cartesian coordinate system people! ! How come you didn't get the 3D reference: X, Y and of course there will be a Z, the 3 axes that make the 3D possible: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Coord_system_CA_0.svg The first Pokemon 3D for the 3Ds anyone? Also the legendaries are Y a flying Pokemon (Up and down), X for a Pokemon that most likely can run very fast on the ground (back and forward), and Z will be some kind of go-through-dimensions psychic-dark type. Sorry for my english!

I think it's to do with genes. X and Y chromosomes. Look at the Japanese logos for the games and you can clearly see DNA in there. pokebeach.com/news/0113/pokemon-x-y-japanese.jpg

About the comments on picture 28 out of 30 concerning the possible reference to the first generation games, I don't know if that's the reasoning behind those colors. If you take a close look at an enlarged screenshot of the deer's antlers, you will see that there are four pairs of antlers. Each pair has a different color. Going from the front pair to the back pair, the colors are as follows: Yellow, Red, PURPLE, Blue. The purple is difficult to spot, but it is there. If it is a reference to the first generation, why would the first color be purple? Green would be a much more logical choice because of pokemon green version. These are just my thoughts though.

Hahahaha, the X legendary pokemon kinda looks like a rip off of that deer thing and that blue thing from princess mononoke xD Dunno how I feel abut this game... I'm excited, but I feel like it's straying too far...
  • mike-joestar - January 8, 2013 8:05 p.m.

The deer thing and blue thing are actually the same creature, the god of the woods xD
  • lan-sky - January 8, 2013 6:40 p.m.

Def want the bird so I guess im getting Y unless they do the switch around again but i doubt it.

If "X" represents Red, Blue, Yellow, Black, and White, and "Y" represents Ruby and Sapphire, then I would not be surprised if the supposed "Z" Pokemon represents Gold, Silver, Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.

We can see that Pikachu is on the top of the Eiffel tower... Someone knows why?
  • KnowYourPokemon - January 8, 2013 6:51 p.m.

My guess would probably have to be a region based around a french setting, or at least the big city of the region being based off Paris.
  • komicturtle - January 8, 2013 7:45 p.m.

Funny- because the broadcast was at Noon for that part of Europe... And it seems that the continent/region Pikachu is at is that area.... So, yeah- this region is most likely based on the European region.
