With yet another unique typing (are you seeing a pattern here?), Gobitto and Goruugu's Ground/Ghost combo give them three immunities to Normal, Fighting, and Electric. Goruugu is a pure physical attacker, and with its Iron Fist ability, Focus Punch is a must, which Gobitto learns at level 55 and Goruugu learns at level 70. Even though it doesn't get a STAB, Focus Punch's base power of 150 plus the 20% Iron Fist bonus make it a good choice for any Goruugu moveset.

According to Game Freak (via Bulbapedia), Gobitto and Goruugu are the first Pokemon ever to be designed by an American.

I can't wait to get my hands on Shandera cause it looks awesome and has great stats.

I definitely see myself using Shandera. I loved the unique type combination when I first heard of it. That Dark/Dragon type hydra-like Pokemon, same thing. I can use that too.

Fun fact: Goruugu can also learn Fly. That alone is likely the one reason I'm putting him in my team. Besides, y'know, being a ghost type who can use Earthquake. 'Course, for a Pokémon with an ability like Iron Fist, he only learns like two punching moves, interestingly enough. But still, Fly.

These guys look awesome but why hasn't there been a zombie-inspired ghost-type yet?
  • VercettisShirt - November 1, 2010 5:23 p.m.

A ton of new Ghost-types and they all look gorgeous. I'm a little suprised that Desukaan is not part Rock-type.

I was kind of expecting a Water/Ghost type to be a ball of mist. Then again, that was pretty much overdone.

i must get a DS asap so i can play this when it's released in the us!

The isshu ghosts are so original. My fave has gotta be hitomoshi's family
  • Fusionmix - October 31, 2010 2:02 p.m.

Wow. The first time in 10 years that Pokemon have looked like Pokemon. Congratulations, Nintendo. I may have to get this.

Awesome is all i can think of.
  • ThatGamerDude - October 31, 2010 5:01 a.m.

They all look awesome but I think I'll be using Shandera the most out of all of them.
  • JCross3 - October 31, 2010 3:54 a.m.

It's gonna be soooo hard to chose which ghost I want. They all look awesome!
  • Genericide - October 31, 2010 2:52 a.m.

All awesome looking, and fairly good gameplay wise as well. The badass chandelier could and will probably replace pokemon like gengar and alakazam as the standard special attacker. But despite it's lower stats, I think I have to get a Burungeru, because nothing beats a giant moustache jellyfish.

I love the goruugu design, definitely catching that guy :)
  • Hotdiddykong - October 31, 2010 1:49 a.m.

These ghost types are awesome! I was hoping for a Ghost/Rock to nickname bouldergiest from mario galaxy but Goruugo being Ghost/ground is good enough!
  • FrozenImplosion - October 31, 2010 1:32 a.m.

Wow these all look pretty good! Especially the fire and water ones! Definitely gonna need to have one of those on my team ahaha
  • Crabhand - October 31, 2010 1:13 a.m.

Shandera is my favorite among the new ghosts. I think it's overall design fits well for ghosts, I would expect to see candles/chandeliers in a haunted mansion, so it's pretty nifty. Goruugu looks pretty cool as well.
  • Nap1400 - October 31, 2010 12:59 a.m.

Uh....the Golem Pokemon? Didn't we have a Pokemon that was NAMED Golem? Anyway, the one family of the four I'd like to get is the Hitmoshi family. Come on, you gotta love having a chandelier for a Pokemon.
  • killorabbit - October 31, 2010 12:33 a.m.

I'm a sucker for ghost pokemon. Can't wait to get my hands on B/W so I can experiment with Shandera and Desukaan.
  • Felixthecat - October 31, 2010 12:32 a.m.

Desukaan is probably my favourite new Pokemon. It has a great design.
