A triple stager, Yorterii is one of those Pokemon who starts off weakly but has a big payoff in its final evolution. You can't go wrong with any of his three abilities, and his Sand Fence ability (note: this is a new ability introduced in B&W, so we're not sure what the official English translation for it will be) is particularly useful on Route 4. Make sure you don't waste your time teaching Murando any Special Attack moves, since his SAtk stat is dismal. You won't be tempted to though, since he has such a huge movepool of Physical STAB moves at his disposal.

I'm going for the dog, also when it fully evolves, it gets fat lol.

This will be useful when I get the game here,I would import but the cost is too much for a game that has no text I will understand

@AurA "Choro" is a sort of slang word for small or... I guess puny fits the bill as well. And yeah, I think Leopardas is my favourite, because Murando is really quite ugly.

does anyone now where to get a patched rom that will work with a dstt card?

I have been using the dog for most of the game. Absolutely right about the Special Attack thing. Do not bother. Im actually thinking about dumping him in favor of that grass steel pokemon.

Miruhoggu's double-encounter power looks like a godsend for grinding...

I usually ignore the early pokemon in the game but its nice to know getting a dark type wont be as difficult .

Fantastic Pokemon articles. Keep up the good work!

Oh, come on Carolyn... You don't have to be so harsh towards Henry's training methods. Like Tyler says: Pokemon is about compassion, friendship and giving each other the benefit-of-the-doubt. Not everyone's in it for the competitive nature of the game. He can do whatever he wants, if he feels it's the way he wants, yeah?

Definetely considering Yorterii, and possibly Choroneko.

Leopardas is one of my new favourite Pokemon. I just really like it's design.

i like Choroneko the best out of those three, Yorterii is cool too, but i dont really like the evos. Also what does choroneko mean? I know Neko is cat, but i dont know choro

I agree with Spartan 117. Also, great article

Choroneko and Leopradas' dream world ability looks really interesting. But looking at it's moveset, it can't learn Baton Pass which completely wrecks the idea I had. But I'll probably be tired of seeing it before too long, if Team Plasma is going to throw them in droves.
  • Larinah - October 9, 2010 5:14 p.m.

All three of these are highly common in the game in the early routes. I actually only caught the dog and Minezumi, and I only KEPT Minezumi's evo. Great post though and I'm lookin' forward to Pokemon Monday again!
