PlayStation Network delivers the goods

The good news is that you can download each PSP game you buy to five PSPs. Transferring a game to PSP leaves a new Certificate Utility in your Game menu, registering that PSP as "one of your five." It’s a shame that if you want to load the game on to more PSPs you have to download it from the Store each time (the file isn’t stored on your PS3) but you could - conceivably - put the game on all your friends’ PSPs for free.

So what are they like? Amazingly good. Crash Bandicoot and Tekken 2 being particularly so – in fact, exactly like a proper PSP version of both games would look, and exactly as you remember them on PSone. Elsewhere the downloadable PS3 games are a decent bunch (we particularly enjoyed Lemmings with its online world rankings and we’re all Blast Factor masters these days.) The "Blu-ray" trailers look a little grainy but are a welcome splash of real-world cool and - best of all - the game demos are numerous, massive and FREE - meaning that any new PS3 owner has got a month’s worth of free content ready to play from day one. Good work, Sony. Now keep it up.
